My future employer decided to use them to perform my background check. I've uploaded proofs of everything they asked plus sent on multiple times hand written and hand filled the required me to sent by mail. After 3 weeks they are still asking me for the same documents (hand filled authorization forms) EVERYDAY even when I have already sent!! this process has been very stressful and frustrating. I’m a very patient person but this is a whole new level of incompetence.

Never ever in my life have I experienced anything like this useless company. It took 3 emails for sterling to even send me the link to get started. 3 weeks later its still not finished. They don't contact you straight away with "issues" (even though there is none as they've got what they need) they send automated emails after 2 or 3 days. My most recent issue is my ID verification. First email was picture was too blurry (bs) , a further email said I don't look like the person in the passport picture ! What the heck. I told them I'm sorry I can't change the way I look after 48 years and asked would they like me to wear my hair down, dye it brown (natural colour) and put make up on? Unable to reply to me. I made a complaint and a supervisor contacted me sending me the same automated crap email. It's disgraceful. I feel like I'm on trial. A dbs check is a 10 min job, not 3 weeks. The customer service is appalling, any company that uses these guys are mad. The reason it takes so long is probably so they can rinse as much money as possible from companies. I'm livid.

THE 1ST PERSON MARIO, SPOKE SO FAST I COULD UNDERSTAND THE REF# WHEN I CALLED BACK, THEY COULDN'T FIND THE PERSON BECAUSE THE REFERENCE NUMBER WAS INCORRECT. 2ND PERSON WHO CALLED LAARNI I THINK WAS HER NAME, HER ACCENT WAS SO THICK I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT SHE WAS ASKING IN REGARDS TO THE PERSON I AM TO GIVE A REFERENCE FOR. I've had to work with a few background check companies in the past and, due to working for contractors, they don't always have the easiest time verifying my work history. When that happens, they usually just mark it as unverified and then I have to go through a major hassle with my employer to verify I wasn't making it up but it's just due to subcontract work or the companies I've worked for changing names over the years. Sterling took a different approach and reached out to me when they came across this and allowed me to provide further proof that I was indeed employed with pay stubs and W-2s.
