It's a black hole! Putting money in is easy. Getting your money out is next to impossible. I'm to the point of just chalking it up to a bad decision on my part. I caution everyone to think twice.

StartEngine makes crowd funding through equity a real thing. Raising capital like this was always reserved for the biggest companies. The rest of us, as startups, don't really have many places to go. Now we do. And they recently merged with another company so they have a huge list of investors!

StartEngine is a great idea. However, the oversight and lock-in periods are questionable and you should only invest money you can lose. I worked for a StartEngine company and the company was very poorly run, and lots of money was wasted. Given that experience, I would be very careful investing in anything on StartEngine, you have no way of knowing what your money is going into, if the management actually wants to scale the product, and if the company is not just a big scam. Your positions are illiquid, have no oversight, and are unregulated. It is like the stock market, but activity is so low that price swings (down) are inevitable when (and if) StartEngine allows trading. I would stick to the stock market or other assets before rolling your hard-earned cash into this black box.

Starting a new business is very difficult but with start engine your dreams come to a reality fairly quickly. I would recommend this awesome website to anyone with an idea and a dream to give them a try!!

Total scam!! I made a clerical error tying my name LAST YEAR! They STILL won't make it right even after I sent a copy of my ID and US Passport!!!! How can "Mr. Wonderful" pt his name on this business?????????
