SSDnodes has a perverse incentive to…
SSDnodes has a perverse incentive to provide abysmally horrible service. The reason is that their pricing is pre-paid for a 3 year period with no refund. (Lower terms are available, but the pricing for lower terms is less competitive, or uncompetitive.) Many users on the Internet have complained that, shortly after the refund period, or CC charge back period, has expired, they have been rudely and quickly ejected -- with no refund -- based on merit-less accusations of violating the terms of service. By merit-less, I mean that the so-called reason for ejection doesn't actually appear in the written TOS. This smacks of a thinly veiled attempt to look legitimate while disguising the true intention which is to reduce load (because the provider has oversold the same cores to far too many customers). I am not a lawyer, but I wonder if this practice may be a form of criminal fraud (frankly, I wouldn't be surprised to read that the place is raid someday and people taken out in handcuffs). This practice appears to have accelerated in the second half of 2018, concurrent with marketing and overselling steeply discounted service. I use many different providers, and in 2018 I tried ssdnodes as well. Unfortunately for me, by the time I read these testimonials, I had already been ripped off a lot of money in prepaid fees. To net it out: #1 NEVER PREPAY for virtual hosting. This is important, so let me repeat it: NEVER PREPAY for virtual hosting! EVER!! #2 ssdnodes despite much misleading techno mumbo-jumbo on their website is NOT a good deal even for 3 year prepaid.
