Hi there, As far as background checks go, we are one of the few dating sites that offer them. When members have done them, you will see a green checkmark on their profile. We actually have very few scammers, as we do rigorous screening to prevent access. A few do get past our screening every now and then, as it's impossible to catch them all, so if you ever come across someone you suspect, please use the "Report a Member" feature to alert us and we will investigate and take action when needed. And, lastly, you can see when someone last logged in right under their headshot so you can know when they were last on site. We have thousands of active members and thousands of success stories that have been fostered by Spiritual Singles over the last 2 decades, so we certainly encourage you to give it a shot! Glad you appreciate the concept. We do allow free members unlimited access to search the database before upgrading, so there are no surprises. And, if someone hasn't been on for a while, by all means, send them a message. They will receive a notification and usually come back on. Don't let that dissuade you!
