We don't limit who can contact you, but do give you 100% control over who you see in your searches and matches, and we recommend being pro-active and contacting those with whom you are interested. We also encourage members to be open-minded about meeting someone who lives outside of their location, as many of our success stories start out this way.

I like the service. I like the idea, and it has helped me to connect with someone who is as committed as I am to spiritual healing with others. The downside of the site is that the geographical matching system seams not to work. I can't get it to list people who are close by (and there don't seam to be that many) before others, who may be in other part of the country or the world. Please work on this aspect of the site, but otherwise I love it. Thank you for having this site, it is unique, relatively inexpensive, and straight forward.

Hi Ralph, Glad you've made a nice connection with someone special, that's great news! I just checked your settings on your Matchmaker preferences and you have "anywhere" set. All you need to do is change that to your zip code and select the radius in miles (50, 100 or 300). Also, for your search preferences, you don't have any geolocation set either. In the upper left corner of the search page, click "Edit" to add your zip and radius there too. It works, you just need to use it! :)

As far as its actual fitness for the purpose of matching me with compatible people, I am satisfied. The website is often a bit slow to load, and doesn't seem to be using modern web technologies.

Hi Ray, Thanks for your review. We have been online since the year 2000 and have had many major overhauls over the last 2 decades! Tech moves fast these days and we do our best to keep things current, but it's difficult, however we are always making upgrades and adding new features to help our members meet their person. We do have amazing members and lot's of tools to help you meet your ideal match, like the Match Questions which determine compatibility. We are a bit old school intentionally too, as we prefer to let members set their own matchmaker preferences and search filters, leaving the control in our members' hands. We also don't use superficial swiping, as we encourage members to read profiles and look deeper than the surface. Hope this gives you a bit more insight into our business model and focus on member success. Let us know when you meet your special someone. :-)

I love this site because it allows you to connect with people all over the world who you may never have otherwise come across. I'm giving a three star rating because the site forces a membership to those who want to communicate outside of 'pre-written hellos' Honestly there is nothing more annoying than getting one of these messages and then needing to pay to avoid having to send one back. If you don't pay, the conversation just looks like two robots going back and forth in a bad early 90s chat room. Perhaps a paid membership could be required for those who want to send personalized messages to more than 3 users, or something along those lines. (p.s. if you like this idea and want more good ideas, I'm always looking for a new career.) Cheers! 🙂

Yes, we are a pay model site where one member needs to subscribe to send a personally written message. Non-subscribing members can read and reply with a personally written message though, which is something we've always done...so only one person needs to subscribe. We are a business and this is how we continue to provide such a great venue where thousands have met their true loves over the last 21 years (almost 22!). SpiritualSingles.com has come a long way, since I used it a few decades ago. It is now a very very well-designed site for sharing your spiritual life, and your interests regarding intimate involvement. I have had a good experience with people reaching me, who I have deep interests in common with. I suggest being open to building friendships, as well as reaching a mate, because even those who may not overlap all your interests in a life partner, may still include some extraordinary beings. However, I do wish that the site gave an "initial free trial" (even if only a week or less) of the "Private" mode ... for reasons I will make clear below. Here are a few important tips for usage: (1) First tip: Private viewing. If you're reading this review.... Enable this right away! Pay the nominal fee. Why: Because a mixed-blessing feature of this site, is that you can get notified EVERY time a person views your profile AGAIN ... not just the first time they view. And the default is DAILY. WHY important? To avoid turning people off, while you LEARN the site features. Because. (1a) Filling out all the Match Questions takes a while, and while you naturally view Search results early on, you can only see THEIR answers, to questions you have answered. (1b) You may initially be going back and forth between seeing others and updating your own profile, as others inspire you, re what you might share. (1c) While filling out the Match Questions may change your Search results *somewhat*, if you don't live in a major city, your TOP results may continue to show the SAME people ... so you may, at first, be re-viewing --those living near to you, --those who have viewed you, --those who added you as an interest or favorite, and --those with whom there has been message communication ... ... those people are being notified that you re-viewed their profile, and by default, are getting that by email, daily. And while you may be learning the site, and seeing others Match Questions unfold, realizing "Oh,that's where I upload photos" ... and "Oh sure: I think THAT Match Question is worth giving my explanation, like they gave theirs..." But while you're learning those things, unless you're being careful to NOT re-visit your top-results-people ... well, them getting daily EMAILS that you viewed them ... ... may not seem particularly attractive. By enabling Private Viewing, you can learn the site / spend time reading people's profile (the most interesting people, to me, have written quite a bit) ... ... without them getting nuisance notifications. 2) Second tip: Explain a few Match Questions. Some of these multiple choice answers are vague. If you're not sure what your answer means, the reader isn't either. If it's a question that's important to you, say something brief, to be clear. 3) Add a custom essay question: Share something unique about you, even if it's brief. Great site. Enjoy.
