This website makes me want to gauge my eyes out and blow off the top of my head with a twelve gauge.Every single time I do the homework(which takes 5 hours by the way) those stupid bookwork checks pop up randomly and ruin my focus.Bad design,bad development team.

why spend money having this for school students my children have broken everything in the house due to the stress and anger this app has caused highly reccomend not to use spax maths or any sparx in general huge waste of money and time from school part.

Sparx. The bane of my existence. Here is a long list of complaints I have: 1. Takes too long. Sparx takes the entirety of Sunday out of my schedule. Not only do I have homework for all the other classes to deal with, but I also have to balance that to my (out of school) programming classes. I can't do it all. In fact, yesterday, I missed out on spending time with my mother, ON MOTHER'S DAY, because of reader. 2. Untrue claims. 'Caters to the needs of individual students' or whatnot. Well, explain how I have identical questions to a friend who has a lower science grade than me. 'Promotes independent reading'. With the reputation of sparx, anything that they attempt to promote is automatically demoted in popularity. There are so many more, just read the other reviews. There's nothing I can say that hasn't been said already. 3. Brainwashing teachers Now, this one may seem a tad false, but all of my teachers swear that sparx is a useful learning tool. How true is this? Not at all. Not a single person has gained anything from this; if anything, it has lowered the average grades in my school! 4. Bookwork checks Now, I am lucky in that my teacher doesn't care about it, but a have a few friends who weren't so lucky. Why would sparx even be online if they want you to waste so much paper? And bookwork checks are meant to check for if you've written the method, but if you just wrote the answer, you'd be fine! The system is inherently flawed and cannot do the one thing it needs to. 5. AI integration Sparx science's marking system is terrible. One thing of many I find myself coming across is this exact scenario: - Explain why x happens / causes (4 reasons, normally, but asking for 2) - 'x happens because / causes a and b' (correct answer) - 0/2 marks: gives no explanation as to how it is wrong (it isn't, just as a reminder) - 'the reason x happens / x is the reason for a and b' (still correct!) - 0/2 marks, correct answer is 'x happens / causes c and d' A bit specific, but the AI is marking perfectly correct answers as wrong because of poor coding and bad training. 6. Reader's 'comprehension' Reader is pushing the idea that to read, you need to memorise the text you're reading by staring at a screen. As an avid reader myself, this is not true at all! The joy of reading comes from the carefree attitude you have to give to it. Plus, the way it marks it is inconsistent at best. 8. Bad customer service Despite the large influx of bad reviews and terrible popularity (I can confirm this, as not only does the popular group hate it, but as a member of the nerds and VP of the rejects, no-one likes it), sparx just ignores everything, changes nothing and just makes it worse by releasing more sparx subjects. Mark my words, if they release sparx computer science, I'm not doing any sparx whatsoever, 9. Other nit-picks A. Bad menus: I've never had an issue with them per say, but that's because I do nothing more than compulsory tasks. B. General bad questions: a lot of questions just don't... I can't describe it. C. The reviews. The reviews, while they may be funny, just emphasis all of my previous points. In conclusion: Sparx maths is a terrible site that fails to perform the tasks it claims to do. It just doesn't work for what it wants to do. Also, it kind of looks like they bought out hegarty to kill of the competition. So there's that. The end :')
