SparxreaderReviews of sparxreader.com

I read Sparx reader books on behalf of my daughter because she finds it impossible to get into the few books she can choose from. I have just been given the next choice out of the four books. The themes are 'King Arthur', 'black death', 'WW1 trenches', and an apocalyptic sci-fi. My daughter is a sensitive 13 year old and in no way is she likely to get into reading if the theme of book is so far from what she would enjoy reading. If she was actually doing the homework, it is an utterly uninspiring, lazy form of homework. Fortunately I'm reading it for her but I'm actually terribly dismayed to have to choose between these next four books!

I absolutely hate this app. I do about 4 questions each round and i only get 10 xp whilst i have to get 300 in total to finish the homework! WHAT RUBBISH! I HATE THIS APP SO MUCH! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!

If only I could rate it zero. The only thing good about this is that I read one of my favourite books on here. That’s it. To put it simply, it’s tedious. The questions are on random metaphors that have no plot relevance and there’s always something that wasn’t in the actual book. It’s slow and punishes you for ‘reading too fast’. Once, I came across an error on a question. Character A said something to Character B in the book, a question I got asked was ‘What did Character C say to Character B?’ Upon putting what Character A said, I was told I was correct. However, Character C saying said thing was not in the story, so it shouldn’t have been right. Sloppy.

Okay, so Sparx reader -I've got to be honest- isn't to bad. It is easy to complete homework, quick and simple, *however*, there is a problem. The books are absolutely boring! This isn't just coming from me, this is an opinion of many of my classmates st school! I'm a book lover and I love books however, I *dislike* using sparx reader due to its boring books. If they had more interesting books, I would totally give it 5 stars!

the website is so bad that i would rather eat my own stomach, the point system is horrid, some times i read a whole 5-7 paragraphs and i only get 20 srp, and some people in my class read the same amount and get 1 srp AND you don't get to pick your own book unless you get gold reader which requires you to sacrafice your sleep to grind for it or sell your soul to the devil, and when you do get gold reader you have to own the book to select it or you have to go find a libreary, so if there isn't a local library you have to read books you've already read, so to summarize this website is the biggest piece of dogshit

I'm always getting alerts to say "homework not started" when in fact my son has already done it 3 days ago. It also says he is reading Pokemon books, or joke books, when this is not the case. It is a truly awful idea to force kids to do this. The questions are far too hard (I've often got them wrong and I got As at GCSE English), and some questions just try to trick them into answering incorrectly

Bro. BRO. Listen. I signed into SparxReader thinking, "Hey, maybe I’ll read a cute lil book today 😊." What actually happened?? I got teleported into a digital escape room of suffering, where the only escape is giving up on literacy itself. I opened a book called The Mysterious Door and ended up in a mysterious existential crisis. The font looked like it was legally not allowed to exist. Paragraphs? Who needs them? Let’s just SLAP text on the screen like it's a ransom note from someone who failed English in 3rd grade. Then the questions hit. Oh the QUESTIONS. "Why did the character feel sad when the bird flew away?" IDK MAYBE BECAUSE IT’S A BIRD AND IT LEFT??? ARE YOU OK SPARXREADER? DO YOU NEED TO TALK TO SOMEONE??? And the point system. What is happening. I reread a chapter 5 times, picked the most galaxy-brain answers known to man, and it said: "You need more practice 😐". MORE PRACTICE IN WHAT. MIND READING??? INTERPRETING A CRYPTIC PROPHECY?? Understanding SparxReader logic requires a PhD in Pain. Also, the avatars? Customizable but in the way where every option looks like an NPC from a 2002 educational CD-ROM. I tried to make myself and ended up looking like a sad tax accountant from space. Final thoughts: If Dante wrote Inferno today, Level 7 of Hell would be SparxReader’s login screen. I’m done. I’m going to go reread the back of a shampoo bottle. At least that has consistent themes.

my son said he was going to lead a pack like the alpha he is and he is gonna take over sparx hq. you caused this he WILL come for you.
