Hear i sit broken hearted tried to read but not even started. The books on the app are full of crap. The friut of reading has turned to rot now I'm begging for another book in it's slot. 30 miniutes they say rather then 3 hours. The buety of reading has fallen like the Berlin wall. Now I sit broken and sad. They will say it's not so bad. They don't know they problems we face to get it done

I’ve been going to highschool for around 8 weeks now and I’ve never been so distressed about homework, sparx maths wasn’t that bad,it would be annoying but this is a different level of stress. My reading age is 17, highest you can get and I’ve always loved reading Harry Potter, hunger games, maze runner etc but since I started sparx reader i don’t want to read, it took the fun out of reading. Most of the time it has me throwing my phone across the room, crying and shouting, I am appalled schools still use this site

This website is genuinely the most horrendous thing you can experience in life. If you initially fail the question, it has to be perfect the next time, and what for? 7 SRP out of the 300 I am required to do fortnightly. Only if you pass the questions first try to you get around 25-35 SRP Total on each question. The breakdowns this website have given me are terrible, and the fact schools pay for this annoys me. It's just a lazy system with a lazy ownership that are just money hungry. Don't forget the bad books as well. All the books are bad along with the fact you cannot even search and choose your own.

The new sparx reader update as off September 2026 has entirely limited me to wider reading, as a student with stress of from many exams I often find it hard to get time to read my own books and I really enjoy reading so I have found it very disappointing, up until the resent update Sparx reader has made reading rewarding and has enabled me to read my own books whithout the fear of using up time I could have used to complete my homework, With the new update reading has been a drag and this school year I have barely managed to get the time to read a single book of my preference.

Every week I dread having to do Sparx reader, it takes the fun out of reading. You have to complete a goal perfectly or you get a detention, no time threshold at all. And I’d you get a section wrong, you have to read the whole thing again and this time not get anything wrong otherwise you get nothing. If you do get it right second time, you only get like 5 SRP, out of 300. The app has made me literally rip some of my hair out of stress and made be just made be cry in general for how shit the system is.

genuinely horrible it gives you books you do not even want to read and questions with similar answers atp its not about reading its about memorizing i would rather get a 30min detention then spending 1hr doing this rubbish (btw this is english homework)
