Don't help to escape the sound at all
I took delivery of a set of blue Sound Escape curtains on the 22nd of July. Firstly, I'd like to say that I am under the impression that the reviews on the sound-escape.co website are fake. At no point of the order process was I offered an opportunity to provide any kind of review, and there is no option to do so on the website, specifically from the order page or elsewhere. I measured these curtains after being fully installed and taped around the edges to prevent leaks from the side. They reduce sound from a background level of 48db (mostly from A/C compressors) to 44db. This is slightly _less_ than the generic blackout curtains they replace, which reduce the same noise level to 43db. These curtains also are not true blackout curtains, tiny dots of light shine through, which makes them look like a starry sky. They are fully synthetic and can only be hand-washed. They are _not_ weighted, nor do they contain pockets for weights, which is a standard feature for curtains at this price range. In summary, it is very disappointing that they perform worse than similar no-name curtains that cost about a quarter as much.

UPDATE: Following investigation, the curtains fabric had a defect. A refund has been offered to the customer, along with a discount on a future order. Quick note for other customers: if your curtains do not provide 100% blackout or don't reduce noise, we will offer you a free return. Please rest assured that the issue experienced by this customer has occurred only a handful of times in over three years, and we have since strengthened our quality-control procedures to prevent it from happening again. --- Hello, Thank you for your review.
