The Sonic does a pretty good job of cleaning with just water. However, the tablets may be required for cleaning more robust stains on your mouth appliance.

I paid on 12 Nov 2025 for a pre-order white Sonic Odyssey Cleaning Pod as a Christmas gift. After nearly 9 weeks of chasing, it never arrived. I think it should be made much clearer at checkout that pre-order items can take months to dispatch. I was never contacted unless I chased and every reply pushed the delivery date back (the only unsolicited email I received said that if I wanted my pink pod, I’d need to wait an extra two weeks. I did not order a pink one). Meanwhile, I continued to receive marketing emails advertising the Sonic Odyssey pod as “available”. Clicking “view available products” showed the pod as available to order — despite my own order never shipping after more than two months. Customer service is gated by an AI bot which decides whether you reach a human. Real person (Grace) was polite but kept extending the wait. Every exchange end with an automated “give us a star how helpful we’ve been”. Once I asked for a refund, there was silence for 3 days before it was processed on 23 Jan 2026. Over two months is not a reasonable delivery timeframe. It is not acceptable to receive responses (over 9 weeks) to chasing emails such as: “…shipping currently estimated to begin…nationwide shipping volume…increased demand and updated manufacturing timelines…not shipped yet…orders will be fulfilled in waves…” and all the while advertising the product as available. Was my shopping experience with Sonic Dental stressful? Yes. Would I buy from them again? No.
