Awful. My pod made a high pitch screeching sound. They suggested putting it on a soft surface but it’s the same. And they’re charging me 25 pounds for a
return which is outrageous. Don’t buy from them!
They also won’t publish my 1 star review on their website! Scammy.

Yet another company that sends you spam…
My final update, no matter what they edit their response to say:
Now they have resorted to saying I'm lying. I have the email with the exact quote I mention below. Literally says "in exchange" with regards to removing the review. They've also edited the part of their response saying they have confirmed I was completely removed from their systems, now it only calls out "marketing systems" instead. That's just shady and dishonest.
Update 20 Jun 2026: After trying to bribe me to remove my review, they continue to send me emails, even though I have been "completely removed" from their systems (according to their reply below, and emails to me). Unbelievable.
They actually gave me some free tablets to say sorry, which I would have appreciated and updated to a 2 or 3 star review (because it shows they take it seriously)... except they also tried to explicitly bribe me:
"We kindly ask as well if there's any chance you'll consider removing the online review. In exchange, we will send a free water flosser along with your free box of cleaning tablets."
And now I keep getting marketing emails. The latest was to receive an entry to "Win a $250 / £200 Amazon voucher!", also in exchange for a review.
My original review and notes:
Yet another company that sends you spam when you uncheck the marketing emails box. Don't give them your details if you care about your inbox. Sure, it's only be one so far, but it's within a week of my order. Shameless.
I emailed about having my details removed, and got a literal AI response. Absolutely disgusting.
Also, to their reply below, referral program emails ARE marketing emails. Also, I had an auto-reply to say it will be 1-2 days. Then Gary the supposed "AI Customer Success Manager" sent me an email about how seriously they take the issue. That's yet another email I didn't need. I repeat: these guys don't respect your inbox. If only they took customer preferences as seriously as they take bad reviews.

Hi Damien,
Thank you for your review. We take customer privacy and communication preferences very seriously, so we'd like to clarify a few points.
Following your order, we sent a standard order-related email and a separate email explaining our referral programme, which allows customers to earn rewards by sharing a referral link. These were not marketing newsletter emails, and we have not added you to any marketing mailing list.
We also note that you contacted us regarding your data preferences earlier today. Our AI assistant has passed it to our customer support team for review. Unfortunately, before our team had a reasonable opportunity to investigate and respond, this review was posted.
We are, of course, happy to assist with any data removal or communication preference requests and will respond directly to your enquiry as soon as possible.
We value all customer feedback, but we feel this review does not accurately reflect the service provided or the facts of the situation. If there has been any misunderstanding, we would welcome the opportunity to resolve it with you directly.
Kind regards,
The Sonic Dental Team
Response:
We are disappointed to see this update as it does not accurately reflect what happened.
As a gesture of goodwill, we offered free products in response to your dissatisfaction. At no point was this conditional on removing or changing your review, which is evidenced by the fact that you received the products and your review remains in place.
We also confirmed that your details had been removed from our marketing systems. If any further communication was received in error, we apologise and would be happy to investigate this further.
We respect every customer's right to leave honest feedback, but we do not believe this review fairly reflects the level of support and resolution provided in this case.

As a dentist receiving a marketing…
As a dentist receiving a marketing letter from this company was uncomfortable and distressing as it was labeled “very important” - which makes it seem like something serious and potentially negative!
For it to just be a marketing leaflet is unprofessional and spammy.
Response from Sonic DentalMay 26, 2026
Hi Jon,
thank you for your feedback and we're sorry our envelope messaging came across differently than intended.
Our intention was simply to introduce Sonic Dental and offer practices the opportunity to learn about our technology - never to create concern or discomfort.
We genuinely value feedback from dental professionals and will take your comments into account for future campaigns. Sonic Dental was built with strong input from the dental community, including dental professionals involved with the business, and our aim has always been to support practices and improve patient care.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Hi Anna - I am sorry to see you have had some issues. We did respond to your return request and ask for a video of the issue (as per our standard - and simple - return procedure). I understand that you replied with the video earlier today. We do ask for 1 working day to respond to emails. Thanks

I ordered the Sonic Dental along with their cleaning tabs. My retainer does not look any cleaner than it did prior to using it. Unfortunately too much time had passed to return it so I am now stuck with it. Not a good buy at all.

Hi Janice - we cannot find any emails or contact from you regarding this issue or request. If you would like to reach out our customer support team would be happy to help. Thanks

Long delays and poor communication
I ordered the Sonic cleaner, on the basis of "shipping within 1 day" and "delivery in 2 to 4 days". I received no shipping info after 10 days and emailed the supplier. I received an automated reply promising a "human" would respond within 24 hours. Nothing heard for 2 days. A further email from the supplier (no reference to my emails) arrived advising of higher than expected orders and that the unit i had ordered was "almost" out of stock and delivery my take some weeks. I could change my order to another unit for a faster delivery. I opted to change my order for faster delivery and received no confirmation. Today I received notification that the unit was "being prepared for despatch ".
My issue is, their adds are still promising delivery of the out of stock item, in 2 to 4 days. Their communications are terrible. The only communications that arrived promptly were requests for reviews.
If you are considering buying from this company, expect long delays and poor communication. I have no idea how their equipment performs as I have not received it.

Prepare for long, unexpected shipping delay. I cancelled.
Feb 19. Website promises standard shipping 3-5 days, processed in 1. After waiting 2 weeks and hearing nothing, I reached out and heard back that they are still backordered and expecting their inventory to arrive a week from now. They charged my cc just fine though, without saying anything about shipping delays or inventory backorders. This all makes me think this is just a well polished marketing front for basic white labeled product and that it's not a proper manufacturer.
Feb 21 - Update after receiving the response below from sonic dental:
Thank you for the response and for acknowledging the communication failures on your part.
My primary concern remains the fulfillment experience. The website indicates orders ship within approximately one working day (with only minor extensions during busy periods), yet after two weeks with no shipment or proactive notification I was told the item was backordered and inventory was still expected to arrive later. Being charged immediately while stock was not available, without clear disclosure, is problematic. Saying you have complex warehouse setup doesn’t mean much when you choose not to disclose delays at time of order, an easy thing to do and a more honest and trustworthy approach.
I will note that responses to my cancellation request and to this review were prompt, which I appreciate. However, proactive communication about delays before customers have to reach out would be far more valuable than fast responses after the fact. And as for the offer for another product, expedited shipping, etc., I've already requested cancellation and refund and declined this offer twice and still no refund has been issued. How many times do I need to ask before you cancel and refund?
Regarding the point about being founded by dental professionals, clinical experience and product engineering/manufacturing are not the same thing. Dentists routinely purchase sterilization and ultrasonic equipment for their practices from established manufacturers rather than designing or producing that equipment themselves. From a consumer perspective, references to dental professionals don’t necessarily address questions about how a device is engineered, manufactured, or differentiated. What makes yours better than others? Is it the quality of your piezoelectric transducers? And how hard is it to “engineer” one of these?
Piezoelectric Transducers: The core component that converts electrical energy into mechanical vibrations. Frequencies around 40-48 kHz are considered the "gold standard" for general, balanced cleaning of items like dental tools, offering good power without damaging delicate items.
Ultrasonic Generator/Driver Circuit: This board provides the high-frequency alternating current required to power the transducer(s) at the correct frequency (e.g., 40 kHz).
Power Supply: A stable power source (often 12V or 24V DC, or AC 110V/220V depending on the driver board) that matches the input requirements of the driver circuit.
Cleaning Tank: A rigid, metallic container (stainless steel) that can hold the cleaning solution and the dental item. The transducer is typically bonded to the bottom or side of this tank.
Mounting/Bonding Material: Strong, waterproof epoxy for securely attaching the transducer to the outside of the metal tank to ensure efficient vibration transfer.
I do appreciate the response and in the end, the delay in the order and communication gave me time to reconsider spending so much on this product when there are many other options, less expensive ones too, to choose from. I've ordered and received another already, and it works great at less than half the price – maybe even uses the same transducer as yours? Who knows?
Response from Sonic DentalFeb 21, 2026
Firstly, we are genuinely and sincerely sorry for the frustration this has caused you. Waiting longer than expected - especially without proactive communication - is not the experience we aim to deliver, and we completely understand why you’d feel disappointed.
The delay you experienced is due to an unprecedented surge in demand, particularly following the launch of our new Sonic Odyssey device. Odyssey is not a generic product - it’s a pioneering, fully portable and wireless ultrasonic cleaner using multi-frequency sweep technology. It’s the first of its kind in our category, and demand has significantly exceeded even our most optimistic forecasts.
That said, increased demand is never an excuse for poor communication. We should always keep customers clearly informed if timelines shift, and we are actively improving our stock forecasting and messaging systems to prevent this happening again.
We also want to address your concern about white labelling. Sonic Dental is not a white-label reseller. All of our products are designed and engineered by our team in the UK, and the business was founded by dental professionals working in the aligner and retainer space. We develop our technology, specifications, and performance standards in-house.
To support our international customers, we operate an intricate fulfilment network with multiple warehouses globally - including three in the United States and two in Canada - so that customers receive products shipped domestically wherever possible. When stock in a specific location sells through faster than forecast (as happened here), replenishment can create short-term delays, which is what you encountered.
We fully appreciate that your card was charged immediately. This is standard practice when an order is placed, but we agree that clearer visibility on stock status would have avoided this frustration.
If you would be open to it, our support team would love to personally resolve this for you - whether that’s expediting your shipment, or offering an alternative.
Again, we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience. We are a genuine manufacturer, deeply invested in advancing dental cleaning technology, and we hope we’ll have the opportunity to restore your confidence in us.
Kind regards,
The Sonic Dental Team
