Problems with downloading and searching for music and contact tech. support
The site is a little difficult to navigate. The service is not very intuitive. Some requests to download music take a long time to process, or music is not found. Contact the tech. support also turned out to be difficult. The feedback form does not send or does not work at all.

I had some trouble at first adding a songwriter, but otherwise it has been good.

Good publishing administration, web interface could be better.
My experiences with Songtrust and their support team have been very straight forward and I can't complain or share the bad experiences others seemed to have had here. Initial royalties took some time to roll in initially (in line with my experience with other publishing administrations) but were always paid in time. Rather specific questions directed towards support were answered thoroughly, but it did take some time to get an answer. 4/5 instead of 5/5 because the web interface is quite unresponsive and it takes some time to find what you are looking for every now and then - but other than that I can recommend their service and they are definitely on top of the line when it comes to publishing administrations available to indie artists.

I have been with CDBaby for…
I have been with CDBaby for distribution since 2003, using them as a "record label" like the rest of we genius songwriters whom record companies laugh at. I noticed after a few years that my work was NOT being registered with PRO's all over the world, even though I paid extra for that service from CDBaby. I found out that the PRO service was actually a 50/50 split of the 15% that is taken off the top for "publishing" with Songtrust. (Let's face it, this isn't true publishing, where publishers go out and find opps for your music, but oh well...) So I got my own ISRC codes, switched all my catalogue over to Songtrust. Within 4 months, 90% of the missing songs that CDBaby never bothered to register after 11 years (lost royalties for me) were now registered (as near as I can tell) by Songtrust, which is what their rep Maximillian promised me. However, just like CDBaby, human responses suddenly went dark. I can only assume this is COVID related lost worker issues and such; plus the market place being sucked dry by Spotify, whom I have neither the clout nor the taste for lost revenue to go up against. Let's face it people, we are always screwed by everyone and it will always be that way. BUT, I have to say that for me, they did what they promised and they do pay my quarterly little bits. I hope they get back to friendly, helpful human response contacts - call SoundExchange and you get a friendly, knowledgeable human EVERY time - there are many people out of work, there must be humans who you can talk to at this company. Note to Songtrust: Don't think that a few positive reviews are going to change your look - cool it with the groovy vids and get honest people to talk to like SoundExchange. The release of music is a minefield and we don't need any more sharpshooters in this world.

Useful, but requires more investment into support.
SongTrust saves me a lot of time with registration and the platform is simple to use. (They do pay out, for anyone worried).
I wish they were able to employ more people in their support department - I'm guessing the current team is swamped as I almost never get a response, which can be frustrating.

Good
After an admittedly long delay during which you may find yourself blocked from your account due to verification of your content additions, you should be able to work with Songtrust again.
In my memory, the wait lasted about 2 to 3 months.
During this period where nothing happens, the fault for me is the lack or absence of response from the customer service.
Today, the conflict has been resolved, my content authenticated and I work with songtrust in perfect harmony.
It is just necessary to be patient at the beginning of the partnership.

Hi Max. I appreciate you sharing your honest feedback. Around the time of your experience, our Conflict Resolution team had been working through auditing accounts to confirm that clients were in fact the owner for all registered works in their accounts. Since the process was completed, it appears that your account was reinstated. We thank you for your cooperation in helping us assure the accuracy of your registrations and apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused you. Should you have any other concerns or questions regarding your account, please reach out to our Client Services Team using our Support Form here: https://www.songtrust.com/contact-support
