Hi Jose, thank you for sharing this. We want to respond to your concerns directly and honestly, because you deserve that. On the question of post-term collection: this is a standard and disclosed clause in our Terms of Service (https://app.songtrust.com/terms-of-service), which are presented during our signup process. When an agreement with Songtrust ends, collection societies don't automatically know who to pay next, so they continue sending royalties to the last registered publisher or publishing administrator until a new publisher registers your works and claims them. Since you indicated you are working with a new publisher, we strongly encourage you to ensure they are proactively registering your songs directly with societies. Until that happens, those societies will continue routing payments to the last known administrator (Songtrust), which can cause exactly the kind of confusion you've experienced. Your new publisher taking that step is the most effective way to ensure a clean transition. Michael - Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We take issues like account access and royalty payments seriously, and we deeply regret that you've been left feeling frustrated and unsupported. We want to make sure that it’s clear we do not lock clients out of their accounts due to canceling and leaving for another publisher— we simply required identity verification to verify all accounts. This was implemented before you requested to cancel but you may have logged in for the first time in a while and came across this experience. The identity verification process was implemented to ensure that client privacy and accounts are safe. Now that your identity has been verified, access to your account should resume as normal. Once we cancel a client’s account, any royalties still due to them will continue to be paid out until their new publisher updates their claims at the pay sources. We never hold royalty payments unless payment and tax information is not up-to-date or if we have the right to believe there may be suspicious activity within an account (whilst we have our Conflict Prevention team investigate). We pay royalties on a quarterly distribution schedule so if your payment and tax information is verified, you should be paid on that usual cadence. I also see that our Support Team recently communicated with you via email. We have gotten back to you regarding the status of your account. Hi Mark, thanks for your patience while your global registrations were finalized. We understand that the initial 9–12 month waiting period for the first royalty payment can be frustrating, especially after the upfront setup fee. Because each global society follows its own pay cycle, it does take time to sync everything. However, we’re happy to see that we have now successfully collected a significant amount of royalties on your behalf since you joined. To keep things moving as quickly as possible, please ensure all your songs have ISRCs attached, as many sources cannot pay out mechanical royalties without them. You can continue to track and withdraw your earnings through your dashboard at the end of each quarter. We're glad to see your catalog is now seeing consistent activity!
