Hi Jessica, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! We're glad part of your experience with us was positive, but we're sorry to hear it wasn't everything you hoped for overall. We always strive to provide clear, consistent support to every Songtrust client, and we'd love the opportunity to make things right.
We noticed you haven't completed song registration yet, so we want to make sure you know that we need your International Standard Recording Codes (ISRCs) in order to begin collecting publishing royalties on your behalf. You can add this critical metadata by logging in to your Songtrust account here: https://app.songtrust.com/login
It also looks like we're still waiting to hear back from you following our last outreach on May 19th. Please don't hesitate to reply so we can walk you through the process and get things sorted. We're here for you every step of the way!

Everything is fine so far but because I was unable to join by mail I ended up paying the fee twice.
Response from SongtrustMar 24, 2025
Hi Thomas, thanks for sharing your feedback. At this time, we only offer signup through our website. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused. While our team is only seeing one charge on your account, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Support Team at [email protected] if you're still seeing more than one charge. We're happy to look into this further for you.

Too tedious to add songs 1 by 1
adding each song 1 by 1 was more tedious than it needed to be. Still seems like a good service and I appreciate how easy everything else was.
However, every time you add a song and specify only one artist it creates an unnecessary dialogue window which adds another step to an already long and un-repeatable process.
Should devise an easier way to add songs. I know there's the copy feature but its not on the same page as the add a song page.
Additonally, the "add a recording" part didnt always update the song listing right away, which lead to having to search spotify for my song twice before it would show up.
I just wish the process was more streamlined because it took a lot of work to add just my 4 albums and few singles to my account.

Hi Joseph, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. The individual song entry process is something we're continually working to make smoother, and the specific friction points you've called out are extremely useful for our Product team to hear. We're sorry it took more effort than it should have to get your catalog added.
We appreciate you sticking with it and hope your experience has been better since!

There is not much transparency until…
There is not much transparency until each song is registered and that takes 12 months.
Response from SongtrustMar 24, 2025
Thanks for your feedback, Shyamal! Transparency is a top priority for us. Registering songs with different pay source partners worldwide can take 9-12 months, depending on where your music is earning. Within your Songtrust account, you’ll see statuses next to each song indicating when they’ve been sent to our partners—these will update again once we receive acknowledgments back.
Once royalties start coming in, our royalty statements provide full visibility into your earnings, exactly as reported by the pay sources. That said, we’re always looking for ways to improve, and we’ll share your feedback with our team to ensure you have the details you need for your song registrations. Should you have additional feedback, or any account-related questions, don't hesitate to let our team know using our Support Form.

A.I don't think so! Songs are on Spotify yet I have to…
Songs are on Spotify yet I have to manually type in every song and go to each song and upload makes a very long experience. I still have to do spilts after I research how this system works. The whole experience with uploading music is not fun, figuring out horrible programming overall, has been my experience. It's as if programmers have little common sense. I know A.I. has none. At least I can play guitar far better than most programmers program computers, and that's what matters! I'll get through the nonsense.

Hi Kenneth, thank you for sharing your honest feedback and apologies for the late reply here. We hear your frustration, and we sincerely apologize that our registration process felt like such a hurdle.
To clarify why the system requires manual input: because Songtrust functions as your publishing administrator rather than a distributor, we require specific composition data to ensure your royalties are tracked accurately. While your music is live on DSPs like Spotify and Apple Music, the data needed to collect your publishing royalties lives in a different place from the audio files.
However, we want to make this process as painless as possible. If you have the same co-writers across multiple tracks, you can make song registration go faster by logging in to your Songtrust account, clicking Songs > Manage Songs, and clicking the duplicate icon under "Copy Splits." This allows you to easily apply splits information from one song to another.
We also wanted to let you know that all of your songs are currently in the Monitoring status. This means our team has successfully received your information and is now in the process of monitoring for royalty activity from our global network of collection societies worldwide. Once you have publishing royalties to collect, you'll see them in your Royalty Dashboard.
If you need a hand navigating song registration in the future or you have additional feedback, please don't hesitate to reach back out to our team at [email protected].

✔ easy to manage / ❌ horrible in the support
I'm with Songtrust for almost 2 years now and I have mixed feelings about them.
Registration was easy - and the dashboard is easy to use (despite the site having some technical problems here and there).
It's no challenge to register your pieces regularly and Songtrust is best for those artists who are looking for an uncomplicated way to collect their publishing royalties worldwide and (!) don't really care for accuracy. Artists who are happy to receive "anything" without the biggest self-effort.
I've received royalties after one year (like it's written by them) and it's working - but if there's any problem, if you need anyone, if there's any specific individual case - easy words: If you need real service, don't expect one..
Mails take months to be responded. My last ticket from April (!) is still unanswered and it looks like I even can't send another request with another concern. I can't send support tickets - it's blocked - nothing is happening. I can't await help. In the music business, when you're an eager independent artist, this is really NOT what you're looking for, we all need reliable support.
I was obligated to enter my real name as songwriter by Songtrust, while on my CMO, special signs haven't been accepted. Songtrust just changed my songwriter's name in the registration on different sites. What's the consequence? Claim conflicts - multiple delays. On the MLC my pieces haven't been registered correctly under one name. I've reached out to the international affair team with GEMA, can't reach out to Songtrust though. I really have a problem that needs to be solved and you can't receive help or even think about it may be them who reach out to you when there's a possible issue (what I do expect to be honest).
This is only what I notice and see myself. Don't expect the biggest accuracy overall in general. ISWC are missing in the PRO registration, despite millions of streams, I haven't received any of my performance royalties (which are also based in streaming), only mechanical? I don't know why. And there aren't the promised worldwide catches from 65 societies, but from like 4 countries, while my music is being played almost everywhere.
The insight page really needs improvement, you can't see an overview how your tracks perform, which society collects how much in what country for you, or what's the registration status of your pieces - or if there's a mistake or missing registration. Not being blind about everything and able to interact as well, would be helpful. It looks like the interest or effort isn't there after the 100$ receive.
This would all be so helpful and a clear 5 star, if it would work smoothly like promised. I still say "so far". I don't give up yet, put my trust into Songtrust's Team to improv and all my own effort into solving things and to receive what belongs to the composer.
Like I said, if you don't care for all of this and you just want to receive imperfect publishing royalties, this is your place.

Hi Kjell, thank you for taking the time to leave this review, and apologies for the late reply here. Feedback like yours is exactly what pushes us to do better, and we don't take it lightly.
We're glad our dashboard has worked well for you, and that you've collected royalties with us. At the same time, we fully acknowledge that the support experience you described fell short of what you deserved. Waiting extended periods without a meaningful response is not acceptable, and we're sorry you went through that.
We've been doing a lot of work to improve our client services, and we're really glad to hear that your more recent interactions with our team have reflected that progress. That improvement is something we're committed to sustaining.
If you run into any other issues, we're always here to help. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly at [email protected] any time.
Thank you for sticking with us and for giving us the chance to get it right.

It would be nice to be able to enter the album instead one song at a time.. but I understand the process it’s just more difficult for the single parent..
Response from SongtrustOct 25, 2024
Hi Marcus, Thanks for sharing your feedback! While we understand the ease of adding a full album all at once would be ideal, we actually work on a song by song basis and require song level details to accurately collect on each work. We ask for each specific song title and the corresponding metadata as this is the best sure-fire way to receive royalties for each individual work. The song-by-song level administrative approach is also useful for clients who may only want to collect on certain songs as opposed to a full catalog or album. If you ever need assistance with adding details to your account, feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] and we would be happy to help!

Hi Richard. Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback! We've passed your message along to the team. While security is a top priority for Songtrust, we certainly don't want our processes such as ID verification to hinder your ability to collect your royalties. We are continuously looking for ways to improve and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. If you are still experiencing issues and haven't already, please reach out to our team (https://www.songtrust.com/contact-our-team) so that we can assist.
