Stayed at Sonder Hotel in Campden, London. Absolutely awful experience, the supposed double bed could barely take one person, not the two we booked and paid for. Smell in the room disgusting, air blocks in the radiators making noises throughout the night. Absolute rip off.

***MUST READ*** This company props itself up as a great alternative to hotels. Read my experience and judge for yourself. Sonders has to be one of the worst companies to do business with. Their motto ‘A Better Way to Stay’ is completely comical only to be eclipsed by their remedial costumer service. Upon check-in, at our ‘A Better Way to Stay’, Sonder room we found several bug/roaches in our room. We immediately contacted Sonder. Requested a full refund. Sonder denied our request and tried to offer another Sonder room almost four days after our request for a refund. After declining to stay in another property managed by Somder, I asked to speak with a supervisor which took over a week for a supervisor to get back to me. The supervisor offered Somder credit for the unused nights to stay at another Sonder managed building. After declining that and requesting a full refund because of the unsanitary conditions we experienced they refused citing there refund/cancellation policy. Consequently, I had to open up a dispute with my credit card company and hopefully will be able to get my $1,300 back. For Sonder to keep my $1,300 for a service I never used is at the very least unethical and at the worst criminal. My experience with Sonder and opinion about this company is that they provide low grade service, unsanitary conditions and are more concerned with their bottom line and profit margins than customer satisfaction and repeat customers. Trust the one star reviews and not Sonder’s fabricated claims of ‘Inspiring, award-winning design meets modern, mobile-first service. Welcome to the future of hospitality’…simply not true. #NeveragainSonder

Stayed in Phoenix a couple days ago. Certainly not 4 star!! Hard to navigate app. No restaurant. No housekeeping. Pool was a mess. Room was just not great. Will never stay at a Sonder again.

Sonder charged me twice for the same booking. I didn’t notice this until after the stay when I saw I had been charged TWICE for the room resulting in an extra $3000 charge. I called them, assuming this would be an easy issue to fix and they would obviously give me a refund, but instead they only offered me back half of that second charge, and essentially stealing $1500 from me. Do not stay at sonder!

Stayed at Sonder Piazza Venezia in Rome. The listings for our room were incorrect and contained photos of completely different properties within the hotel (i.e., apartments instead of rooms), leading us to believe our accommodations included a full kitchen and living room (which were pictured in the specific listing for the room we booked). The worst part is that our room was dark, dirty, and had a TERMITE INFESTATION. I have contacted Sonder HQ about this multiple times and filed a BBB complaint. They never responded to me or the BBB. AVOID.

- Getting in was the worst, codes to the door didn’t work. No phone number to actually call anyone, we had to message someone multiple times in the app and try multiple codes. We then had to wait for someone to come in person. - The electronic deadbolt was very difficult to use, you had to hit it in the right spot to use it - The deadbolt to the balcony door is off, you have to pull up hard on the door for the deadbolt to catch - The gate to the parking lot worked sometimes - They kept telling me they were emailing me but the emails never came through email or spam - Bed is plywood, it’s so hard and uncomfortable, we barely slept - Garbage trucks come at 3:45am right outside the room and are very loud, the windows are old and you hear everything, bring ear plugs - Shower pressure in the primary bathroom is so strong it hurt, had to use other shower - Code to the pool doesn’t work - The room is definitely not what is pictured, quality of materials are very poor - Our rental car got towed our last day -This place was the worst room I have ever rented

They don't let their employees take breaks (which is against California law: You cannot employ someone for a work period of more than five hours without providing an unpaid, off-duty meal period of at least 30 minutes. Would sure suck if they were sued over this. Because they'd lose.) They show fake photos of rooms during reservations with more amenities than the room you're booking, they leave one person alone in the hotel for all complaints and requests, and they abuse their housekeeping staff. Never stay here. The rooms are dirty, they don't make repairs, and they'll shuffle you around if they overbook.

Scam artists. Cancelled my reservation day of and refuse to refund me $314 for my hotel that I did not use. Also, why am I talking to a representative from the Phillipines for a hotel in Los Angeles? This company has to be a fraud. I need my money back.
