Brother printers no longer fully support the MacOS
As of September 2026, Brother printers no longer fully support the current Macintosh operating systerm (OS 27 "Golden Gate"). Specifically, the iPrint software that enables scanning and other functions directly from the printer no longer function because of the company's deliberate failure to provide an Apple Silicon version. There is an FAQ page on the Brother USA website that says "Apple silicon-compatible software is planned…" by September 2027. BUT, Brother was warned a year ago, along with everyone else that the next release of MacOS (that is MacOS 27) would no longer support intell-based apps. Brother could have written an Apple Silicon version of their Print&Scan software at any time in the last several years. It would have worked on MacOS 26, for example. Brother has no vialble excuse at all for not adquately supporting their products. They make very good printers, but their customer service is beyond abysmal.
