Purchased a Brother MFC-J4355DW printer . . . set up so difficult that outside assistance was required . . . downloaded the software to operate the device . . . can print. . . wanted to scan a document and the printer is saying that the software is not loaded onto the PC .. . need outside assistance to figure it out .. . will not be purchasing another Brother device . . . . too much time wasted trying to figure it out

I'm 15 days trying to register my new printer, endless attempts to register online, use the chat service for help, which is next to useless, you eventually get to actually have a person, come to assist you, who can't phone you, to sort the issue, my printer came with 6 months free ink. Which you need to register to claim, it's been a nightmare, today, I got an actual email, from Anna, who is trying to sort it, I live in hope, as I've no ink, and can't do my work. Dreadful after care customer service.

I've purchased multiple products from Brother and have no real complaints about the products. However, when I gave them my email address, I created one with the word "brother" as part of the email address. Since that time I've gotten hundreds -- perhaps even thousands -- of spam emails that have been sent to that address. It appears that brother gives away or sells your email address. Either that, or their systems are so insecure that they've been hacked and sold on the open market. It started on March 7, 2023 and continues.

I bought a P-touch labeler. Every time I print a label, a blank inch of tape comes out that has to be cut off. I contacted Brother about it (because I could not find how to make it stop in the manual) and they said it is in the design of the product. So it’s a stupid design that wastes about half of your labeling tape.

I bought a Brothers labeler 2018, model P touch D210 and one day last year it just stopped working. This is a device that lives in my pantry and I use it infrequently. I contacted Brother to be told, well they don't last forever or something to that extent. So like an idiot, I bought another one and yep, 1 year later it stopped working. It is still warranty so when contacting customer support at brother, they refer me to "technicians" in my area which I contacted and none responded. So yet another useless piece of electronic will go to the recycling center. Needless to say, I will not be buying any Brother product ever. I gave it a two star rating because I really like the printer.

What a farce. They have paper instructions, a little screen and of course the online setup. Once it tried to complete the firmware set up it failed and it merrily says setting machine and nothing completes. Hard to understand the stupidity of their tech team that the instruction don't tell you when the main software has completed and a heads up to the length of time it takes to download the firmware.
