We’re incredibly grateful for the guidance and support we received. The team was not only knowledgeable and strategic, but also truly caring throughout the entire process. A special thanks to Adrienne Gilbert—she is simply the best! Adrienne was exceptionally insightful, supportive, and always went the extra mile. Thanks to her help, our daughter was admitted to her dream school—we couldn’t be happier!
The college admissions journey can be overwhelming, especially for us as international parents with little experience or understanding of the U.S. application system. But having the right guidance made all the difference. Our younger daughter is now in middle school, and we’ll definitely be reaching out again when the time comes!

Very satisfied!
Aliesha was a great consultant! She always had a detailed answer for every question, and definitely knew her way around many of more complicated things related to college applications.
I started with Solomon around 9 months before applications were due, so I didn't get the chance to use some of their services. However, there were still so many things I learned from them which I would have had a low chance of finding out otherwise--some of which were pretty critical pieces of information.
Aliesha's feedback along with Solomon's editing services were a great help to my essays. College essays have unspoken guidelines and best practices, which mentors at Solomon seem to have mastered. With Solomon I learned how to truly transfer my mind into my writings, and do so in an eloquent way.
Of course, the price is expensive, but arguably worth it. With Solomon's help, I ended up with admission to the #1 ranked school for my field of study.

Complete Scam
If you're looking to have a pristine college application or succeed at transferring universities, you're better off looking somewhere else. We paid for the counselor to help with FOUR schools, and it's been rejection after rejection. Through the initial meeting, my counselor had said that it's better to apply as a humanities major since it'd be more competitive applying as business. And yet the entire process, she kept pushing for me to apply as more obscure business majors because oh well, my classes for spring semester were all related to accounting and management.
The counselor doesn't do much apart from giving you a few vague ideas on what to write about, and the editing team is completely separate. You'd be better off saving money by running your essays through ChatGPT because they certainly didn't rewrite anything if it didn't seem like an AO would take particular notice.
And the most infuriating part. One of the schools I was desperate for? My counselor had told me that I didn't need her help because I was essentially guaranteed admission because I was in-state. We still asked her to help for further guarantee, but surprise, surprise! Decisions day came, and I was rejected.
Maybe this works better if you had a more experienced and positively reviewed counselor, but honestly, you're not getting much here apart from a personalized college list (which you can do on your own with research) and an AI-esque vomit of your essays.

Excellent service
We had an exceptional experience working with the Solomon team, particularly Mr. Will Giles. We enrolled in their services when our children began high school. Mr. Giles provided expert guidance well before their senior year, helping us prioritize key areas that maximized our son's success in the college admission process. His tailored approach built our confidence as the application period approached.
Mr. Giles created a detailed task list with a clear timeline, which proved invaluable. He assisted in crafting a balanced college list, refining multiple essay drafts, offering precise guidance on completing applications, and establishing a submission schedule. This structured support made the application process seamless and stress free.
The results were outstanding. Our son was accepted into several of his top choice schools for computer engineering. We highly recommend Mr. Giles and the Solomon team to students and parents navigating the college application journey.

We had a great experience with Will…
We had a great experience with Will Giles. He helped us organize our daughter's resume and activities and hone in on her strengths in putting together her applications. He worked with us to ensure a solid academic positioning that worked very well with her coursework and extracurriculars and resulted in acceptances to most of the schools she applied to. She is thrilled to be attending USC this Fall!

Adrienne Gilbert was outstanding…
Adrienne Gilbert was outstanding throughout my son’s college application process. Her strategic approach to positioning his strengths, coupled with her encouraging and positive demeanor, made a tremendous difference, ultimately helping him gain admission to 3 of his top 5 schools.
Her deep experience and understanding of what admissions officers are truly looking for gave us a clear edge. Adrienne has a rare ability to guide both the big-picture narrative and the fine details of the application with equal precision, which is truly invaluable.
Most importantly, my son genuinely enjoyed working with her. She brought out the best in him, and for that, we are incredibly grateful.

Don't believe the marketing
Don't believe the marketing. There is no need to spend a premium for this firm. Our experience was impersonal and fairly generic. The first counselor assigned to us had only graduated from her bachelor's a year before! We had to raise a complaint for an experienced one, which the replacement counselor was, but she gave no counseling beyond what we parents already know.
The essay work is done by a different team and it felt no better than a Chatgpt rewrite.
Edit: I am compelled to respond after Solomon's reply to my review.
1. One day after my review was posted, it was taken down on that basis that I was not a true customer. I was asked to provide proof to Trustpilot, which I did. I wonder how such challenge was initiated? I assume Trustpilot does not ask for proof-of-purchase for every 1-star review.
2. Once my review was reinstated, Solomon contacted me to discuss a potential partial refund. I declined. The timing of the offer raised questions for me.
3. My review was later flagged again, this time for allegedly containing defamatory content. I stand by my account as a truthful retelling of our family’s experience. I appreciate Trustpilot for upholding transparency and an unbiased integrity.
4. I was surprised that detailed academic information about my child was referenced publicly in Solomon’s response. That level of disclosure felt unnecessary and concerning.
5. That said, the response also omitted context around my child’s UC GPA. While freshman-year grades included a low mark, that course was later retaken with an "A". The UC system excludes freshman grades from the GPA calculation, and my child’s UC GPA was a competitive 4.2.
For non-UC schools, we made sure this effort was mentioned in supplemental essays, reviewed by Solomon.
6. Despite 5 above, our child was only admitted to UC Davis and Santa Cruz. Given that UC admissions weigh heavily on GPA and essays—areas we specifically engaged Solomon for coaching, essay and application guidance—it’s disappointing that we saw such limited outcomes.
7. Right at the first meeting, we shared that we weren’t aiming for Top 20 schools. Cornell was a moonshot and I find no fault to use ED for it. While Solomon suggested Boston University as an ED option, we had expressed that it wasn’t a fit. Their ongoing suggestion of this plan, even in response to our review, reflects a repeated disconnect with our preferences.
8. Notably, Solomon’s response did not dispute that our first counselor had very minimal professional experience. We believe this context is important for families evaluating value and the premium cost of these services.
While no service can guarantee outcomes. However, based on our experience, the support we received did not match the expectations set by the firm’s marketing or pricing. We’re sharing this to help other families make informed choices.
Response from Solomon Admissions ConsultingJul 18, 2025
Hi Norcal parent,
We see that your child was admitted to the University of Washington as an out-of-state applicant and to Boston University through the Guaranteed Transfer Program, with the help of our coaching, essay and application guidance. As you know, your child had three “C grades” and one “D grade” on his high school transcript, all in academic core courses, including one “D” in English, two “C’s” in foreign language, and one “C” in biology. As we explained, these four C and D grades, in addition to the seven “B grades” in academic core courses on his transcript, are disqualifying at every top 20 college. Not even the child of an A-List Hollywood celebrity could gain admission to an Ivy League school with such a transcript, let alone an unhooked applicant like your son. Given that the average admitted student to Boston University and the University of Washington from out-of-state has a 3.9 GPA, these results were strong given your son’s transcript.
We positioned your child as Environmental Science and created a comprehensive coaching plan around this positioning for him, which he wrote about in his college essays. We also recommended that your son apply Early Decision to Boston University, a high reach school given his grades; he ignored our advice and applied Early Decision instead to Cornell, an Ivy that we said was not possible given his transcript. Your son was admitted to Boston University with our help through the Guaranteed Transfer Program, which means had he followed our advice and applied Early Decision to Boston University, he would have been admitted outright instead of having to transfer.
We're sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your son’s acceptances at two Top 50 colleges in Boston University and the University of Washington. We have reached out and left a voicemail to discuss if you need further support. Please email us at [email protected].

Exceed Expectations
Working with Will Giles was one of the most helpful experiences of my high school journey. From the very beginning, Will helped me think deeply about how I wanted to make an impact, not just with resume building. He guided me to found a nonprofit that directly served my community, encouraged me to start blogging to share my voice, and connected me with research opportunities that aligned with my interests.
More than anything, Will helped me be intentional. He didn’t just help me fill out applications, but he helped me craft a narrative, choose activities that genuinely mattered, and pursue work I was proud of. Because of his support, I was fortunate to be accepted to Stanford (where I’ve committed), as well as Brown, Columbia, UPenn, Dartmouth, Duke, Vanderbilt, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, Rice, and WashU.
I truly cannot recommend Will highly enough.
