We began working with Cathleen Sheils when my daughter was in 10th grade. From the outset, Cathleen laid out a clear plan and, through regular follow-up meetings, helped my daughter stay on track. Applying to college is an overwhelming experience for even the most savvy students and parents. Jessica worked with both our kids, and each of them went to their top choice school - UChicago and Northwestern. Jessica asked the right questions early on to help our kids match their interests and talents with the right universities and majors. Then she guided them through crafting the narratives that told their very different stories in the best light. She helped them navigate the calendar starting from junior year spring so all the application components were in place by the time they were due. From early decision strategy to activity list crafting to landing on compelling essay topics, she kept the process on track. She was also a joy to work with both times, keeping perspective, good humor, and providing reassurance in every interaction. Kimberly is a very experienced prior admissions officer who provided expert advice on every aspect of the college admissions process. Most importantly, she understood our son extremely well and helped him present his best, authentic self. She provided critical insights into how admissions views candidates and their applications. We worked with Will Giles at Solomon and we are very happy with our senior getting into Barnard College.
