I received 2 parking fines from the same car park monitored by this company. The fines were sent after the visits and I appealed both as I was a genuine customer. I received notification of my first appeal being successful but nothing about my second appeal. I’ve now been sent to the debt collectors. I’ve sent proof of my credit card payment for the 2nd appeal but received nothing to say that I had been successful or unsuccessful with my appeal back in December. Now I’m having to try to contact them again or potentially go to court!

i have put one star because it wouldnt let me leave comment without doing so . you need to look at this as this company deserves minus stars awarded !! They are scammers and operating a legal mugging scheme . I have had 3 letters demanding £100 or the debt will be passed to a debt collection agency . I have not parked in their carpark . I have done a 3 point turn in front of their entrance , They have positioned their camera so it takes pics as u approach the entrance . the 'proof' pics they send clearly show the nose of my car touching the pavement ion front of their entrance as i did the 3 point turn to get off my street as my street as only one way into and off . The first 2 times we appealed and the quoshed the parking fine , this time we have appealed and are also getting the local paper to run a piece on it . Because it IS legal day light robbery !! People affected by this company need to report to trading standards . Im thinking of setting up a company and taking pics of peoples shadows as they pass my gate , if the shadow falls on my yard I shall fine them £100 .... what if we all do it ?? the world really as gone mad when this can be registered as a legit company when they are one step above muggers .

Lack of signage
I parked in the Adam and Eve pub at Prudhoe to support my family at a memorial run, following the tragic and sudden death of my cousin. I did not see any signage about parking at the front of the carpark or along the side of the carpark where all of the parking bays were. I have since been back and seen the signs are attached to the side of the pub behind picnic tables, opposite the side where the parking is. In spite of the very difficult circumstances and the lack of signage, photos of which I included in my appeal, several PNCs were issued that day and Smartparking refused to uphold our appeals, without further comment. The manager of the pub also refused to speak to the parking company who manage the parking on their property. This is sadly not the first time I have encountered this company. I think their attitude is absolutely disgusting.

Smart Parking - Chancers!
On a visit to Durham last August, I parked my rental vehicle in the hotel car park, having been advised that it would cost me a flat rate 20 pounds per day. At check-out, I paid 60 pounds for my three days of parking. In September, I received a Parking Charge Notice via Avis Budget UK, from whom I had rented the car. Smart Parking had charged me 100 pounds, 60 pounds if I paid within 14 days. Avis paid the fee, and also charged me a 30 pounds admin fee. As I live in Canada, I did not receive the paperwork until well into September. Almost impossible to contact Smart Parking, it's easier to win the Krypton Factor. The phone number I did eventually manage to find did not accept calls! No wonder they are called Smart Parking! I bypassed the usual routes and wrote to the CEO of Smart Parking and AVIS with copies to all offices, including proof of payment for parking at the hotel. I eventually got my refund but it took 7 months of pain. Do not trust this company.

Appalling
Appalling . I parked in a car park in Newark on Trent . The machine stated I had reached maximum payment at £2.50 and would not accept further payment . As the car park remained open 24 hours I assumed ( as did everyone else attempting to pay) that I had paid the required amount . Surprise surprise I have been issued with a fine stating I had not paid enough . I have tried to appeal but the system demands a receipt which the machine did not issue and it will not accept screen grabs . Yet another example of parking companies ripping customers off . AVOID!!

Financial entrapment/rip off artists!!
On 30 Jan 2025, I visited a local spot, Siblyback Lake, for a walk and then a hot drink. When I arrived I noticed the signs to pay and display, etc. However, when attempting to pay for my ticket I found that the machine was having issues accepting card payments (no slot to insert card either). I tried more than once to try and pay via the card reader, but to no avail.
I then decided to go into the cafe to change a £10 note in order to pay. I was probably no more than 4 mins as there were a few customers ahead of me. Whilst in the cafe, I spoke to one of the staff who I knew regarding the issue, to which she advised that it happens a lot, and then went back to the machine and purchased my ticket. I paid £5 to park all day and displayed the ticket on my dash accordingly.
Today, 18 Feb 2025, I received a letter stating that I owe a £100 fine for parking without paying!!? I've sent an email to dispute this fact, however, I no longer have the ticket to hand as it went in the bin when I got home.
