Plastic wrapping trouble, otherwise great
In my most recent shipment, the plastic packaging of the wet food was sealed incorrectly - it wouldn't tear open. Besides that, I'm very pleased with smalls!

Big Pet Food prioritizes profits over cat health and they pack cat food with preservatives and fillers. Smalls believes cats deserve better and uses natural ingredients and added vitamins and minerals in our food. Our recipes are cooked with minimal processing. After cooking, our recipes are then frozen to maximize freshness and shipped off to happy cats across the country.

My cat loves the food and it is easy to feed him. No harsh smells and he loves the bonito flakes on top. I am able to freeze the extra blocks of food and know it will be fresh for him when he needs it. For a Bengal cat, fresh high protein food is important. I look forward to seeing free shipping with orders in the future, that is my only current concern considering my order total.

I want the best for my cats, and the best to me means real, simple ingredients with loads of nutrients that keep them hydrated and healthy. I've been using Smalls for some time now, and I love how responsive they are with order changes, requests, samples, and they even updated their packaging to reduce waste, and help me portion and store the food better. My cats love it, and I even gave some to a friend's kitty to try. I've never seen an animal devour food faster. The only thing keeping me from giving them a solid 5 is more of a technology pet peeve (no pun intended). I like having the ability to see and control my own orders online, and view purchase history, etc., rather than through text, but they're so communicative, this is hardly a major drawback. Thanks Smalls for making feeding my cats a breeze!

There is a lot to love about this company. I hope they can effectively address the customer service and logistical issues that have been plaguing them, and that I myself have experienced. These issues are inevitably impeding their profitability and overall success. It’s difficult to right things once negative reviews start piling up. The lack of consistent, good customer service and responsiveness doesn’t align with the attention to detail and high quality of their product line. That said, my cat is crazy about this food. It was a challenge to transition him because once he tasted Smalls, it’s all he wanted. There is an attention to detail unlike anything I have experienced in my continual quest to feed my cat the healthiest and highest quality food possible. The timing of the first full shipment didn’t line up with when the food from the sampler box was scheduled to run out. I tried to get this adjusted through customer service. There was no way to speak to someone so I had to email. Though I received a response to my first message, I received no response to my follow up questions relating to adjusting the send date. As a consequence, my cat had to go a full week without any Smalls food. This was problematic given that he was already fully transitioned. I had to feed him an entirely different food In the interim and his sensitive digestive system was thrown off. Providing stellar customer service is crucial to building and maintaining trust. Here’s hoping that Smalls makes the appropriate adjustments for this to happen.

I received a sample package and also then found out the next month I would be charged $170. The customer service response was immediate and they cancelled the order, so that I can decide when and what I want to order. No complaints here. I will order more food from them.
