I want to give you guys a 5 star rating so bad, but the only thing holding me back is the shipping issues. The food is great, the concierge service is phenomenal, but shipping is iffy. I think once you guys fix that problem you guys will have top notch service!

Lifesaver but with a few kinks
One of my cats has a history of bladder stones, for which she was put on a prescription diet that I later realized was extremely high in carbohydrates. This led to her developing diabetes. In short, I did a LOT of research and knew exactly what I wanted in terms of nutritional content for my diabetic cat - <5% calories from carbs, the rest split between protein and fat with slightly more protein than fat. This is a lot harder to find that you would think! Weruva came closest but the cats hated it. Then I found Smalls and it was perfect. Wet food with exactly the nutritional content I wanted, using species appropriate ingredients. It's expensive but at this point I didn't care. For the most part I have been happy and my cat, who was in remission from diabetes before going on Smalls has remained that way and looks healthier than ever. I do have a few complaints though. Maybe this is because they are a newer company and are expanding, but every batch I receive is different in texture and water content. Not just a little different - it can range from smoothie consistency to sausage consistency within the same formula. From their customer service responses it seems like they've been trying different processes and facilities. I hope they figure it out because this amount of inconsistency is really unacceptable. They also seem to have some difficulty matching their supply with demand as sometimes a particular formula in my order is unavailable and they just give me more of another one. I wish they would let me know about these things in advance and give me some choice in how to handle it. Additionally, I've received more than one order in which the count was wrong for the different formulas. Sometimes they were quick to offer refunds or credits, and other times they just apologized and offered nothing. I've been a customer for over a year now and I am planning to stick with them, but I think new customers should be aware of these issues. I hope they work out these kinks because the concept and the food itself is really worthwhile.

My cat loved the junk food, now she is a smalls addict.
My adopted cate Yoni only liked the canned catfood that I would make the metaphor of "fast food flavors" (you know the mega chain with the good fries). At first she turned her nose up at all the flavors, but after contacting support (amazing by the way) they suggested I heat up the food for 10 seconds in the microwave. That did the trick! Now she eats it right out of the fridge. She almost sucked up the entire bow! The only reason I didn't give this rating a five star is because they use FedEx. Both times I have had a delivery, FedEx dropped the ball. However, support was there for the rescue and has sent me a new order each time.

Overall the experience was great
Overall the experience was great. I have a kitty with weird circumstances. She is severely special needs and incredibly picky. She did not care for the food, but as I said, she is a very special case when it comes to most things. The food was great quality and the customer service was great. They refunded my money I spent on the sample box since she wouldn’t eat it. For anyone on the fence about trying this, go for it! It’s seriously great quality food. It comes in a tube or packet for the frozen food and you just portion it out for your cat based on what they need. There’s a guide to walk you through how to introduce it and how much to feed them with this food.

Past a year now and...
Past a year now and, for the most part, I've been pretty satisfied with the product. There have been a few glitches as the company got going. Their website has some definite problems with reliable response (it's cute, but doesn't always respond when I click on things.) Customer service is, however, ALWAYS VERY responsive. I've been disappointed in the quality of packaging. The company has experienced growing pains, so I've been waiting for them to work those out. At first, packaging was elegant and very easy to use. Then it was clunky, while they tried making the bricks, but did not result in brick form and became difficult to open. Then they tried tubes, which worked well I thought. But the last few months, I've gotten the poorly formed bricks again that are almost impossible to open and very difficult to portion out. Initially I thought, well that's not a big deal. But the product itself seems to have more ice crystals in it as well and is not quite as smooth as the cat would like it. So I find myself looking back at canned cat food and wondering if it's an adequate choice. I do have need to portion my cat's food pretty stringently, since he's a tubby fellow. Overall I would prefer to use Smalls food; it seems more palatable and safe for the cat, without preservatives. I really like the size of the kibble. Most kibble is large pieces, but these pieces are quite small, which my (very large) cat prefers. Go figure. He gets a little kibble and a little of the frozen every day, which he prefers made very fresh (he was a feral until he was two). There are plenty of nutrients for him. I've been calculating the cost and, for the amount I feed him, it appears to be about equal to the cost of high-quality canned food. So I'll likely stay with Smalls. I do wish they'd get the packaging issue fixed, though.

Good product, poor website, assistance
Good product, very difficult to understand what are you going to get. You are more focused on have a well looking website more than a useful and explanatory site. Should improve your website to make it more easy to understand what we need and what we are going to get

Food is 5 stars, Service could be better
Food is 5 stars. The starter kit transition schedule does not line up correctly with the delivery of the first box... this should be adjusted. Customer service is nice but not very accommodating with fixing order issues. I'm very much hoping that the next box will arrive before my cats are finished with the first one so there isn't any period of time with no smalls to feed them.
