My two cats took to the Smalls kibble right away. They don't want anything else any more. Not their old kibble, not even treats. Very surprising to me. They seemed to like the freeze-dried raw at first but after a few tries, declined to eat it at all. Considering past experiences, I think they just don't like raw food in general. As far as wet food, it seems that they are okay with the Smalls but still favor their old wet food. I'll probably transition them to Smalls wet food over time. I like the wet food packaging, and I think it will improve even more over time. It has always arrived still frozen (either with dry ice or an ice pack to keep it cool), and the packaging seems solid. I don't really enjoy using the website though. There's a lot I could say about what I don't like about the website - to summarize, it's clunky and not everything works properly or as I would expect. With a little bit of refreshing the page or going back to square one, it can work, but I imagine some people would be turned off by a website that isn't easy to use. I think the company is still fairly new, so some bumps are to be expected. Their product and real-world implementation seems great which more than makes up for the web design. I'd also like to add that any time I've had a technical problem, their support team was quick to help and polite as well.

I decided to try Smalls after realizing my sweet boy cat had a food allergy. He would get sores on his paws, feline acne, his fur lost its usual glossiness, and itchy blisters that he’d scratch into open sores on his neck, head, and face (and at its worst, all over his poor body). I suspect fish, so I wanted to start him on a poultry diet with as few ingredients as possible. Both cats were hesitant to try the fresh food, but once they finally gave it a shot (which did require leaving no other option out for them), they seemed pleased. Lulu gets excited and meows for it now. Felix took to the freeze-dried food immediately. He eats the fresh food but definitely prefers the freeze-dried. After a month, both of them seem happier, feistier, shinier, softer, and Felix has stopped getting his itchy blisters. I’m beyond happy at how this diet has worked out for them.

Though there was initially a delay with my trial order (dry ice shortage and then FedEx damaged the package), my experience since that was corrected has been pretty darn good. I wasn’t sure how Captain would feel about the Ground Bird as he usually only likes pate style. But within 24 hours, he was devouring it! He seems to have more energy already and it’s only been two weeks. He loved the Smooth Bird, next we’ll try the Ground Cow, which I imagine he’ll love too.

I was interested in trying smalls because my cat has an insatiable appetite. Some days id feed her 4 cans of whatever cat food i happened to have meow mix or purrfect portions or some of the non grain wet foods and also give her free access to kibble and she'd still always cry to be fed more. Shes young and thin and recovering from an autoimmune disease so i was told to let her eat as much as she wants. When i switched her to smalls she stopped inhaling her food the minute it touched the bowl. She eats until shes full and walks away and comes back. She doesnt throw up her food from eating too fast anymore and her eyes are always bright and shiny. Its perfect for her because she gets large portions without overloading on carbs. I feel like shes getting the nutrition she really needs. Their customer service is very kind and responsive as well. I missed the cut off to change a preference for my order one day and after a few exchanged texts the order was changed for me!

My little queen was struggling so much with her dry, store-brand food and it was making her constipated and dehydrated. She was VERY unhappy, uncomfortable, not playing, sleeping all the time (more than usual), and just not herself. Once I started her on the ground wet food from Smalls, her energy came back, she seems much more comfortable and NO MORE ACCIDENTS outside the litter box. Let's just say – her stress levels have come down considerably (as have mine), her coat feels softer, and she is just all around much happier. One little tip I have for anyone else that is struggling with keeping your kitty hydrated, I add a little water to the wet food for more water intake and she still seems to love it! I guess it's like gravy or soup or something. Don't know, but must be! The bird blend, chicken and turkey are her faves! Long story short, happy cat... happy life!

My kitties love Smalls! The quality of the food has been great, and my cats are really enjoying it. I feel better knowing that I am giving my cats real ingredients with minimal fillers. My only complaint would be the packaging of the food. It was hard to open and it is hard to see the slash marks for portions when you are serving the food. I would definitely recommend Smalls for any cat owner.

My cat LOVES the fresh food so much that I ran out prior to the next delivery date and wasn’t able to get an earlier delivery. The only option to change delivery is later than the scheduled date. I’m still trying to calculate how much food I’ll need for the month so would like the option for an earlier delivery. I’m also very impressed that you use dissolvable insulation in the box. It works great and is so eco-friendly. I’ve encouraged my human food delivery service to use it.
