Pros: 1.Great quality cat food. Layla loves both the wet and dry options. 2.Ditto the freeze dried giblets, which seem like cat candy. 3. Variety of options included is helpful and makes good sense, (except the fish. Usually she hates fish, which is why I ordered poultry.) Cons: 1. Delivery packaging seems terrible for the environment- really hope they can address this (return / reuse the delivery box somehow?) 2. Packaging of the food itself in large ‘sausages’ is inconvenient and messy. Surely there’s a better way? 3. First delivery for December (after sampler) was cancelled by Smalls, apparently due to Christmas. Not at all helpful!

The website and communication need an overhaul. My cats love this food and their coats are nice and shiny. Great product. However, I struggle to know that I'm actually getting what I ordered because the confirmation emails have not once matched what I actually ordered/received and the confirmation emails for the same order will not match each other. Somehow, so far, what I was shown on the website at the time of the order and what was in my box have been the same. Confirmations are useless as it currently stands.

I wish my cat had liked this food. I was looking for something higher quality than grocery store canned cat food, but she’s hooked on her cuts in gravy. 5 stars for Smalls packaging. I really liked the dry ice/minimal waste approach.

I was very excited to try Smalls, but unfortunately, my cat Tiago did not like their wet food as much as he liked their freeze-dried food. I did have a bad experience prior to Thanksgiving which left me without food for Tiago leading me to order his wet food from Chewy which he ended up liking more than Smalls. I will continue to order their freeze-dried dry food because Tiago likes it & because of the convenience/health benefits of their freeze-dried food, but I will no longer be using Smalls for my cat's full dietary needs.

My cats disliked the beef wet food in the samples we received. In my first order, I received one packet of beef wet food ("smooth cow") instead of the "other smooth bird" I ordered. I was reimbursed for the item sent in error. I am definitely still figuring out what Smalls food my cats enjoy. On my first order, I started them out on "smooth bird," which they like some days and not others. I'm hoping they enjoy the "ground bird" and "other ground bird" more. They still prefer their Sheba fish pate to anything, but that stuff has added salt and other things they probably shouldn't eat. I'm trying to find healthy food that is as reliably appealing to them as the Sheba.

Let me start by saying the product smalls sells- human grad cat food- is stellar. The two cats LOVE it. However, it ends up being way more expensive than advertised. And they suddenly stopped delivery over the holidays without nearly enough notice so we ran out and had to switch foods around, which made for lots of cat vomit to clean up. The customer service is great with texting, but the website is really clunky and not obvious about current order vs next order. If we could afford it, we would probably try to stay with smalls, but we are going to switch to something more financially sustainable for us.

I would give Smalls a five if the billing to shipping were faster. My cats LOVE the food and it has made them healthier but it took over a week after I paid for my order to ship. Meanwhile, the food ran out at home.

I am always open to trying products that are healthier and more natural. I have tried Smalls twice now and I am still not convinced that it's the plan for me and my little fury one. The packaging is inconveniently difficult. As much as this plan costs I would expect the food to be delivered in reusable containers or something more sustainable instead of plastic that you basically have to saw through to open! I then have to remove all the contents and place them in my own container which normally I wouldn't mind so much except for the fact that portion control is a bit more difficult. Plus the packages don't have recommended "consume by" dates on them (or at least a time frame). It's just all too much for me right now.
