In general my cats like the food, not love it, and the portion is small. It is a good quality food. Sometimes I have to add something like the freeze dried food I use in order to get them to eat it, then they eat it all. I have 7 cats and there is supposed to be enough food for 7. My one cat won't eat this food, only what she's used to and so the 6 of them eat the amount of food that should be a 7 portion meal. During the day they are hungry and begging for food. The last batch of food that I received was very watery which made them even hungrier during the day. I'm using this food for their morning or evening meal and using the other food I've been feeding them (which is very high quality) for the other meal. I could never afford to use this food exclusively especially when they don't seem satisfied with the serving portion. I'll be looking for an alternative

food seems alright when gradually introduced to the cats by mixing with the old food - but man, the packaging is wack, and may just break it for me. I bought a long container to try to preserve these long poorly designed logs of food, only to find the yellow container WILL NOT CLOSE. If you're thinking of buying it to keep the food - DO NOT. Terrible, terrible design, would HIGHLY recommend them to invest in a new designer for the packaging and storage. Not to mention the leakage!! The food smells good, you can tell its not trash, but the obscene cost and poor website design leading to confusion about billing and shipments, might be the killer. Giving it a bit longer of a try but highly recommend browsing every corner of the website and FAQ before placing any orders, to see if you have the attention needed to stay on top of it, otherwise you may find yourself being billed upwards of $100 for food your cat will not eat!

Great product (usually), inconsistent service. I have been feeding this food to my cats for almost a year now, and most of the time, it's the only food that doesn't make my 2 sensitive cats sick. However they seem to have an inconsistent recipe (for their ground turkey recipe at least- lots of variation in the color and smell from time to time, and my cats can tell and won't eat it when it's sometimes greyish), and they are occasionally out of their Turkey recipe. This may not be an issue for some, but for my cats, the Turkey recipe alone is the only food that I've found for them that doesn't make them hurl, so them sending me a chicken recipe as a replacement one month meant that my cats felt sick that month while I scrambled around to high end pet stores trying to find something good enough to hold them over. Additionally, this month, my food arrived 8 days after the initial shipping date completely warm (WARM warm, warmer than room temp in my house) and smelling awful. I realize this shipping delay may have been out of their control. They have just notified me that a replacement order will ship next week, but my cats have been out of food for a few days so I've been feeding them another food (the next best I can find) and they are barfing again. Customer service has always been very responsive and helpful when I come to them with my issues, but it doesn't make up for all the time I have had to wait around for them to deliver what I'm paying for (and it isn't cheap). I think I'm currently back on the hunt for a fresh/raw cat food that works for my sensitive cats, because Smalls has been too inconsistent to be worth the price. I just want my cats to be healthy.

I'm a new customer. The $21.84 sampler box lasted only a few days. I thought for the price I'd get more food. I have a picky cat so I couldn't really tell if he liked an item long term because there wasn't a lot of it. But I could tell if he didn't like an item which was a few items in the sampler. Smalls has a funky fulfillment process so my first full order took 11 days to show up. Now I have enough food for a while and it turns out my cat thinks the food is ok. He seems to like his old stuff just as well. I'm switching between the two. Customer service is nice. The web site is confusing and needs to be updated. I'm on the fence with Smalls whether they will work long term for my cat so I'm giving them 3 stars.

**UPDATE** Revising this as I was able to get in touch with CS who helped me with my refund and cancellation, and offered me 25% off if and when I decide to try Smalls again. I still think I'll try other companies before I come back though -- too many logistical, CS, and UX challenges at the moment. They seem like a relatively new company, so hopefully they iron all this stuff out -- if you're gonna offer such a high-end product, you gotta have the customer experience to match! My cat really does love the food, and the branding is adorable. ORIGINAL REVIEW: My first full order arrived a week late. The six packages of fresh food are completely thawed out and room temperature, and will need to be thrown out. I have called, texted, and emailed customer support and no one is responding. There is no clear way to adjust the order or get a refund. And when I placed the order, I was forced to order a minimum amount of fresh food that is way more than I need for one small cat. Why can't I order items a la carte? Such a shame -- the products I got with my trial order were actually great, but literally everything else about this is such a headache (and an expensive headache at that) -- I will unfortunately be cancelling my subscription as soon I figure out how to.

Aside from the fact that my cat would absolutely not touch the freeze-dried food and this company refused a refund on the dried food, the fact that this company makes it so difficult for you to cancel the subscription makes me not want to continue doing business with them. I see that other reviews on here mention the same thing. You have to send an email and they ask you multiple questions while trying to talk you into continuing your subscription, before finally cancelling. They justify this by saying they are a small company and want feedback, but you can easily offer people to cancel subscriptions while collecting feedback...ONLINE. This aspect just seems like bad faith. It also took them two weeks to get my order to me, which I see some other reviews also mention that this is not guaranteed either. I'd rather not add additional stress to my everyday life by needing to worry about my cat's food constantly. It was nice to try and I really wanted to support a small business, but this is too much. Do yourself a favor and just order on Chewy or Amazon. Saves me so much headache.

They like it ok. They like the snacks ok but not love it. I think they are still trying to get use to it. I’m trying different ways to incorporate the food into their food to see if it make a difference.

Our cats LOVE the food! No complaints there! Processing and shipping from the first date of our order took over a month. And the packaging can be difficult to partition accurately when dividing it into multiple servings.
