This was very hard to adjust the size. No directions. I ended up having to pull out the free end of the buckles and now can’t get them back in the harness. Looks terrible. The harness also rides up on my 19.4 lb Westie dog. This harness is sturdy, but unfortunately it is not a good choice for smaller dogs.

I did a lot of research before I went with your product. I even called and spoke to a wonderful representative that answer a lot of questions for me. I ordered it for my 55 pound golden doodle, as we were taking along five hour car trip. After reading all the instruction I put it on her and it seemed to fit her well. We got in the car, started our trip and after an hour or so she laid down. I thought this was good because she seemed comfortable. After three hours, I stopped to let her get out of the car. Much to my horror, she was shaking and seemed upset when I tried to just lift her. She couldn’t move. She was locked into place this whole time and I didn’t know it. I don’t know why this happened because I followed the instructions and it was clear that she was supposed to be able to sit up and lay down at will. You can imagine I was very upset. Don’t know if I’ll be using it on the trip home.😞

I bought the wrong size by mistake. Otherwise it seems to work really well so far!

My 45 lb husky mix is restless in the car, so not feasible to get her to lie down to clip her in. Additionally, the slack for a dog her size was fairly short so she didn't like it and got more restless. The design is good and sturdy, seems good to protect in a crash. Not a big fan of the double clips for harness walking (even when fitted, was a bit harder to clip on). Was dry after she went in a pond, so water resistant(?). Not our favorite harness, but do appreciate all the testing to be crash safe

I bought a $200 bag through sleepypod: As a summary: this product was sold with a clear, known flaw and rather than recall/replace the part/model, the customer service representative quoted the impressively limited warranty policy. Given the price point, this level of unreliability is simply not worth the hassle! --Sleepypod iterated a design because enough bags broke because of the flaw and subsequently stopped producing/providing the part to consumers --Rather than recalling those bags with the clasps, the specific part, or otherwise providing some way for less fortunate consumers who bought the earlier design to cut some of the losses on their investment, the company hides their clearly obsolescent product behind an incredibly limited warranty policy --What likely began as an honest mistake became willful negligence (given the company's clearly profit-centered response to error) EDIT: The company reached out to me after I posted this review and offered to remedy the situation. I appreciated very much the person reaching out and, for me, it made up for the initially very bad customer service

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’ve reached out to our customer relations rep so we could get a better understanding of the issue. We also appreciate you updating your review to modify her actual name. It is important to us that we respect the privacy of our employees. In reviewing the correspondence, it looks like you are referencing a Sleepypod Air with snap fasters for holding back the mesh panels to transform it into a den. That version was manufactured from 2009 to 2012. Based on customer feedback, the design was modified to update the snap fastener to a hook-and-loop fastener for quicker attachment/detachment when working with more fractious cats and dogs. The fastener has no bearing on the safety of the product as it is meant to hold the mesh screen open to transform the carrier into a den for home use. Our customer relations rep offered you a discount on a new Sleepypod product. Since you are looking for a replacement part for a snap that we no longer offer, we will reach out to you directly.

There is nothing wrong with the harness but my dog just does NOT like it. She is a 60 standard poodle and she did not like being restricted by this harness and not able to look out the window. Otherwise it is well made.

Support and issue resolution was difficult to get. It took follow ups over a few weeks, unfortunately. But, once I was able to get through, they were responsive. Assuming the product protects as tests indicate, it’s a good product.

Though harness itself is okay, the straps on the buckles are secured by small rubber bands. These do not stop the straps from sliding through the buckles. I had to order slides from Amazon and put them on the straps. I feel this is a big fail in design for this company.

Hi Donna - We're sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with the straps on your Sleepypod product. We've checked in with our design team regarding the straps. The elastic band is meant to keep the tail of the strap neat, so the strap can slide through this band. However, the end of the strap should be folded over with extra stitching that would make it difficult to slide through the buckle. We want to make sure your pup has the product as it was designed. We're wondering if you can snap a photo of the problem you are having so we can share it with the design team? We've asked our customer service team to reach out to you via the email associated with your order.
