My sister and I recently decided to have our mother Valerie move into Silverado Memory care Bellingham. Silverado has exceeded all of her needs as well as ours. Every visit we are relieved to see her so well dressed, visiting with other members and taking part in activities. Our moms room is always tidy and she is excited for meals. The staff meets her where she is that day and really care about her. Siverado was a great choice and gives our family peace of mind.

Silverado Hermann Park is the very best…
Silverado Hermann Park is the very best place both for my mom and for my own peace of mind. Each and every staff member at Silverado has been trained in how to work with memory care patients and to a person - from the receptionist and valet to the caregiver and nurse - they all treat my mother as family. Because of Silverado's "group home" environment, when my mom moved in she was constantly out and about with other residents getting the socialization she needed to keep her brain as sharp as possible – even though she is most definitely not a joiner. When Mom moved in, Silverado staff worked hard to identify her interests and to engage Mom in ways that made her feel valued and worthy. They gardened with her and took her for long walks to restore some of her natural independence. And as Mom’s disease has progressed, Silverado has adapted to her changing needs. Recently Mom suffered some pretty severe health setbacks, and I can honestly say that Silverado’s nursing care is first-rate. With each new setback I’ve felt like I was working with a partner – someone who cared about my mom as much as I do, but who has the knowledge and experience to counsel me when I need it the most. And that takes me to my last point. I would be remiss if I didn't also say that Silverado cares for my sister and me as much as they care for our mom. We often say that Hailea Whitlock, Silverado's social worker, treats us as if we (and our Mom) are her only patients. But every other family member we've met says the same. If you have a question about how to handle an issue with your loved one, Hailea has the answer and always finds the time to sit with you and explain things in a way that makes you feel confident and prepared. My sister and I love Silverado Hermann Park, and our mother has grown to love it too. She didn't want to move in and make a new adjustment, but now she tells us what a nice place she lives in and what nice people she lives with. I am sorry for anyone who has to go through this process, but Silverado makes it bearable. Each day I go to sleep knowing Mom is safe, comfortable, and happy, and that is because Silverado Hermann Park makes it so.

Mom lives at Silverado Barton
My mother has lived at Silverado Barton Springs since August of 2020 and I could not be happier with the loving care that the entire team provides. Everyone knows her name, her routine, her likes/dislikes and they give her the specialized attention that she needs and deserves. I would never consider having her live anywhere else!!

Best move for Mom
My mom loves living at the Silverado. The transition from her previous home was seamless with the help of the Silverado team. She is always active and living her best life. The Silverado team keeps in contact with me and they offer so much. You get what you pay for and I have very high expectations regarding my mother's care. As my mother's care needs increase the cost stays the same. The team at the Silverado has exceeded my expectations. They have been a blessing during a very difficult time.

Ask the right questions
I strongly encourage family members to ask the right questions. Ask for a proper medical assessment before accepting recommendations to change the accommodations or care level being provided. We often hear conflicting reports on the condition of a resident depending on who we talk to.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Each resident and family member is important to us, and we take situations like this very seriously. Our Senior Vice President of Community Operations, Michelle Egerer, will be following up with you shortly to discuss this further.

After a severe fall and a lengthy…
After a severe fall and a lengthy hospital stay my mother needed a place to recover where she could be safe and be at ease. For us Silverado was just the place.
The staff was wonderful. The care team took great care of mom’s physical health and took the time to put her at ease with proactive and caring personal interactions, including group baking sessions and one on one cribbage games.
The admin team was always focused on making it easier for my family to care for mom. They really helped make a challenging time easier.
