Western Digital and UPS
I was part of the My Cloud debacle that was hacked and wiped, fortunately I had mine backed up. I promptly returned my drive and waited for the 40% off voucher to arrive so I could order a new one. After a couple of reminder phone calls the voucher arrived in my inbox and I ordered the drive only to find that it was on back order and would be approx 3 weeks before it was sent. Three weeks went by and the email arrived saying the drive was being sent, tracking number attached, this took me to UPS tracking website where I was told it would be delivered the following Monday. It didn't arrive, the tracking then changed to delivery Tuesday, didn't come then either. Several phone calls later to Western Digital and UPS and countless false promises from UPS telling me different days it would be delivered over the next week, UPS admitted they had lost it, last seen clearing customs then disappeared in to thin air. UPS sent me the documentation saying they had lost it, this I passed on to WD who then told me they needed to do an investigation which could take up to 14 days, when complete they would refund me and give me a new voucher to order again, why could they not just send me another one???? So ten days later I had a refund and a new voucher was issued, I went to order and once again the drive was on back order of 2-3 weeks. last week the email arrived saying the order was being sent, I clicked on the tracking and to my surprise it was to be delivered the next day, it didn't arrive, shock. The next day the tracking showed that the parcel was damaged and needed to be returned to WD, so I rang WD who assured me that they would deal with it promptly. So, here I am one week later with no drive, no refund, no email explaining what is happening and to make matters worse I rang today for an update and the system is down all day for planned maintenance, fantastic planning WD!!!!
So I have now been without a working drive since July/August and I have no idea when this will get resolved.
If you value your sanity do not buy from Western Digital all of their customer service operators need retraining so that they don't yawn and sigh mid conversation, extremely annoying.
As for UPS don't trust the tracking it lies and goes back in time and all of their customer service ops have a script that must say "if we cant find it just say its coming tomorrow"
Am I just unlucky or are these two companies always this bad? I wish I could leave a zero star review, one star is far too generous.

LAWSUIT MATERIAL
The amount of product failure, customer neglect, and stress induced is worth a lawsuit.

Typical Big Corp who treats is customers with utter contempt
Dealing with Western Digital has been the worst online retail experience of my life. Please read my review and decide for yourself if you wish to purchase products from them directly.
I placed an order for 4 x 10TB external hard drives through the WD online store. When the package arrived, upon opening only 2 drives were in the parcel. I contacted them to explain the problem and they asked me to provide photographic evidence of the package, invoice and serial no's of the drives in the box which I promptly did. I was asked to wait 7-10 days for them to deal with the issue and refund or replace the missing drives. Whilst not happy to have to wait I reluctantly accepted.
After 10 days I had heard nothing from them so contacted them again to be told that they had to investigate the issue with their parcel courier, I explained that I didn't understand why I had to wait for them to resolve internal issues with their logistics provider, I was told that there was nothing they were willing to do until this investigation completed which would be another 7-10 days.
After trying my best to get somewhere with this company through their international call centre and following the guidance given by Citizens Advice I established that they have no formal complaint process, no escalation process, no interest in trying to resolve a dispute through an Alternative Dispute Resolution provider. Therefore I was left with no choice but to pursue them through the UK Courts by making a money claim (small claims court claim) as still no refund or replacement or any willingness to correspond with me has been forthcoming.
This company have failed to act reasonably, fairly or in accordance with their obligations under the The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Incidentally their terms of sale attempt to run roughshod over these regulations by suggesting that they have no liability for products shipped once handed to their appointed logistics provider, this is completely unenforceable and against the above named act. At least their terms state that "Your statutory rights are not affected", damn right they aren't!
With thanks to Citizens advice and after some searching and digging I have been able to get some proper details for issuing/serving court documents in the UK to this company. These are virtually impossible to find on their own website.

Be prepared to wait for arrival of in-stock item....
Sorted in the end - WD UK say they shipped item (13 Sept 2021), yet it hasnt moved from shipped status to on its way (over a week later), tracking number also invalid... raised support ticket (ignored)... So Phoned them, I was given correct tracking number, (arrived 21 sept 2021), all sorted politely & nicely by staff member... but I obviously dont need this additional stress with a £350 online order... Be prepared to wait a bit for arrival of in-stock item....

LITERALLY the Absolute Worst Ever
Astonishingly terrible customer service. Long story short... Ordered a product, but had to return it. Called for an RMA number, but took TWO calls in order to actually receive it (guess they didn't process it the first time). Shipped the item promptly back to them with the UPS shipping label they provided. Several days go by, but no communication or refund. I check the RMA number on their website for a status update, but the RMA number doesn't even come up. I call. I online chat. I email. Nothing. A multitude of calls later and I am still no closer to a resolution. I am contemplating contacting my credit card company about this. Honestly...and I do mean this...WD has the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered. It's practically non-existant.

Before you buy just look at the return policy yourself. Awful. External hard drive arrived broken. Sucha a waste of time, very hard to get hold of them

WD Store tried to scam me
This is the most horrible customer service I have ever experienced. First they sent me products that did not match their item descriptions, by performing much worse than advertised. I had to reach out to WD many tomes to get a response to my return request.
Before WD accepted my RMA request they demanded from me to take a picture of the back of all 4 cards with their serial numbers. After submitting the images they approved the return.
I shipped back all 4 cards that I originally received from Western Digital.
But I received only the money for the 2 cheaper cards, while WD falsely states that I did not return the 2 expensive cards.
whether it is a complete lie and they are aware that I returned all 4 correct cards
or (option 2) someone at their warehouse stole mine.
Either way, this is not my problem and I should not have to deal with it.
Go to my youtube channel ParadiseBizz to see the video including my video proof of returning the correct cards.
