Denied a claim because there was never an "initial scan" from the post office, even though I have video doorbell proof. I was told unless it shows the package with the tracking number on video, I'm just out of luck! Rudest people! They do whatever they can to keep your money! DO NO USE!!!

I had a graded card come in the mail and had the corner cracked and they claimed that since the item wasn’t damaged and the PSA slab was it wasn’t going to fall under a refund yet the card is now worth ungraded value at best.

What is the point of paying for this? If shipsurance collects money but never responds to emails calls or messages then they are just STEALING money from people. A claim shouldn't take over 3 weeks to process. Why is it impossible to get ahead of anybody or get a simple response or update on a claim. This is a scam.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Shipsurance has been extremely disappointing. After years of insuring thousands of shipments through their service, my account was terminated because of my “loss history.” When I asked for the specific standard I had supposedly exceeded, I was told it was based on internal underwriting guidelines and proprietary business practices that are not disclosed to customers. In other words, they terminated my coverage based on a threshold that is not stated anywhere in the policy or merchant agreement. Throughout the process, I repeatedly asked for transparency and a reasonable explanation. Instead, I received the same generic responses, with no willingness to discuss a practical solution or reconsider the decision. If you’re an e-commerce business looking for shipping insurance, understand that your coverage can apparently be terminated based on undisclosed internal criteria that you have no way of knowing or managing in advance. Insurance should provide businesses with confidence and transparency—not hidden standards that only come to light after coverage is revoked. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Shipsurance to other e-commerce businesses.

I love this company. FedEx delivered an expensive and rare package to a wrong address and then wouldn't do anything about it. Fortunately, I had insured it with ShipSurance. I filled out their form, supplied them with the required documents and within days they had completed their investigation and put the insured money into my account. So easy to work with. I am truly grateful.

Always a nightmare to communicate with this company. I wish they provided names with claims so whoever they are can be accountable for their time wasting replies.

they are impossible to reach, i can't even get my claim reviewed and question answered properly because every call goes to voicemail, every email comes back with same script. i should have just get insurance directly from the shipping company, now i have to lose money to replace a 700 dollar sale to my customer. stay away NOT WORTH IT.

I’ve used Shipsurance for shipping coverage and recently had a situation that left a really bad impression. I filed a claim for a lost package (around $595), and the claim was approved and paid out. Weeks later, the package unexpectedly showed up — which I understand can happen. At that point, Shipsurance reached out requesting reimbursement. The issue is not the reimbursement itself — I completely understand that part. The problem is how it was handled. First, I was given incorrect information and told the package had been delivered back to me, which was not true. After clarifying that it was actually delivered to my customer, I was then asked to contact my client and have the item returned. From there, the communication became extremely aggressive and rushed. I was repeatedly asked for immediate repayment — even though I did not have the item back in my possession yet. When I asked if return shipping would be covered (since this situation was outside of my control), I was told no and that payment was still expected immediately. This puts small businesses in an unfair position: I’m expected to return funds before recovering my product I’m responsible for coordinating the return with my client I’m also expected to cover additional shipping costs And I take on all the risk if the customer never sends the item back On top of that, I felt pressured into sharing my client’s contact information, which I now regret, as it crosses a line in terms of customer privacy. The tone and urgency throughout the process felt more like pressure than support.
