Slow and sub-par service. You would think that their expensive shipping and repacking fees would mean better services. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Would not recommend. You are better off with an alternative service.

Ahhhh comGateway
Ahhhh comGateway. Where do I start?
I received an email from them offering me 15% off shipping for the month of April. I had had my eye on a tiny, portable router that I wanted for travel, but it was only available at this stage in the US, so I figured this was the perfect opportunity to grab it. The router cost $59USD.
The item arrived at my mailbox, I went to ship it, and I nearly had a heart attack at the price. They wanted $74USD ($106AUD) to ship it to me. ONE HUNDERED AND SIX DOLLARS. FOR A TINY 400 GRAM ITEM. I nearly had a heart attack. The "shipping component" was only about 25$, but then there is the "fuel surcharge", the "lithium ion battery" surcharge, the "remote area" surcharge (despite living in the second largest city in the state), and of course "fees and taxes" (which appeared to be twice as high as they should be). Oh well, all is not lost. I still have this code for 15% off shipping right? Well, sort of. Quite deceptively, it only applies to the base shipping cost, so really, you save absolute **** all.
I tried using their live chat, repeatedly, to talk to someone about the charges. But despite it saying that they are "online", there was never anyone to talk to. I ended up sending them an email about the charges. Surely they can't be right. I got an email back a day later basically saying; "yes these charges are all valid. Suck eggs. We look forward to serving you in the future!" Oh boy. In addition they clarified for me that the fees and taxes were higher than 10% of the item, because the 10% GST is applicable to the value of the item + the shipping cost (so essentially, the higher they crank up the shipping cost, the more tax you pay). In addition, in this subcategory of charges, they also include a 5% "administration fee" (unlike eBay, or Amazon, or, well, anyone really). So keep in mind the 10% GST is actually 15% with these guys.
At this point, what do you do? You've basically got a gun to your head, because you can't keep arguing with them back and forth, because you will run out of days of free storage and have to start paying even more. Also, the 15% off will end, so the meagre $4 saving from that would be gone also. So your choices are discard the item and lose the $59 USD you paid for it, pay additional money for them to send it back to Amazon and hope you can get your money back, or bite the bullet and pay their extortionate shipping fees.
After a little research, I found that there are sellers on ebay that will ship this exact same item for as low as $27.34 (excluding tax). Obviously I understand that comGateway adds a margin because they are a business and that's why they exist. But this instance was just extreme, and the complete unwillingness to compromise just ticked me off.

I have been using ComGateway for about…
I have been using ComGateway for about 18 months now, purely for business shipments. We purchase a number of parcels form all over the US, have then shipped to their warehouse, and on to us. We are a GST exempt business, and when the rules changed on July 1st 2018, ComGateway allowed us to have the parcels shipped to us in Australia, GST exempt. For those how don't know how GST exempt works, basically we don't pay GST on any imports, because we are not the end user, we resell these items in Australia, and then charge GST to customer/end user, and pass this on to the ATO. In the past, I had to argue with ComGateway to honour the GST exempt, which they finally did. They advised me that our account will be noted that we are GST exempt, and all future shipments will not incur the GST. All I need to do, was contact customer service and advise them before each shipment. So, over the course of the last few weeks, I had made all my orders with suppliers, and had these shipped to their warehouse, and I notified ComGateway that I have a shipment ready, and to please proceed without the GST, as per their promise. After a number of emails back and fourth, ComGateway have decided that they will no longer honour this, and I must pay all GST on the shipment, or any future shipments. No one informed me of this, no email, call etc of their changes. The GST amount is about $3500 USD - not a small amount. I also need to pay this on a credit card with crappy bank exchange rates. ComGateway are now advising that i will need to apply for a GST refund/reimbursement. Do I trust a company I don't know with $3500 USD of my money? Will the ATO refund this? To add to this, ComGateway are charging me $100 USD insurance on this shipment, when we already have insurance. I am very frustrated with the service from Comgateway and I certainly will not be using them in the future.

Their margin is clearly more important than the customer.... Wouldn't recommend
Clearly stated that my package was for Christmas and it was a disaster! Customer service is poor and run on GMT+8, takes 24hr minimum for anyone to get back to you as there is no telephone number. My package was available to ship on the Thursday 20/12, I spent a day and a half trying to get hold of an agent as the website wouldn't allow me to select it for shipping. I spend 5hrs on Friday waiting for someone to talk to me over the live chat after which all that time it hadn't connected to an agent and they all of a sudden went offline!! They got back to me on Saturday morning which was useless as they said there was a technical fault and the technical team wouldn't be available until Monday the 24/12. After talking to the manager to complain on the Sunday I waited on the phone to let me know when the technical team would arrive into work so I can wake up due to the time difference... I was then told they have been given the Xmas eve and Xmas day off therefore wouldn't be able to do anything until boxing day 26/12... WHICH IS TOTALLY BIZARRE FOR A SERVICES COMPANY WHO DEPEND ON THESE IMPORTANT HOLIDAYS FOR BUSINESS... after much deliberation an agent called me Sunday night saying the problem had been fixed. I then was able to ship the package the following morning when the US office opens.. however some incompetent being put in the wrong destination of shipping my package was now being sent to Hong Kong and not Bahrain... We found out through a contact we have in FedEx and they denied any fault from comGateway's end even though we have proof. And now currently my package is being rerouted through Hong Kong. Having paid 36% of the order in total of our package and its a complete scam! The "express" service they use (which was apparently a free upgrade) is FedEx economy shipping. After paying over $400 for this service I would say they are SCAMMERS!

Staff go through your items and "discard" them without permission
The last time I shipped with comGateway, my perfume gifts were intact because they were Clinique.
In my most recent shipment, I have received a luxury perfume miniature from Acqua de Parma and samples from Diptyque and other designers which are have a retail price of 2.20usd per millilitre, my items have been "discarded" or more than likely pocketed by some dishonest staff!
It seems like the reasons comgateway has provided as to why my expensive designer perfumes were discarded are unsatisfactory. Quote: "The value of the samples is US$ 0.00 as they are free samples by definition..."
These luxury perfumes are from a high-end store - Barneys New York, and not some online discount shop. Worse still, I used comGateway's BuyForMe service which i was charged an additional 5% on top of my total purchase. I had clearly stated that if any one of the items including gifts were unavailable, I would not have proceeded with my order, and now my some items are missing after using their service!
My expensive designer perfumes such as Acqua de Parma are exclusive gift WITH purchase items that DO have a value more than its technical price as you cannot buy them and some are collectable items.
For example, a full-sized 50ml perfume is priced at 110usd, of which comgateway "discarded" my 5ml miniature which is technically worth 11usd. Just check out barneys.com page - acqua di parma colonia eau de cologone natural spray. (Unfortunately, trustpilot does not allow links to be posted in reviews)
Barneys do not offer ANYTHING for free and I had to purchase 150usd worth of items in order to get what your company deems "free" samples.
The replacement items you are sending over are not equivalent (two cheap, unbranded perfumes, someone else's samples - mascaras and one make up fix which I have no idea of its past origin) cannot replace the value of my luxury perfume samples.
How can I ever trust comgateway whose staff have "discarded" my items which I have entrusted the company to ship to me, without obtaining my permission?
