On September 20th I saw a part on the Sear Parts Direct website for my Simplicity 8/14 chipper/shredder. It was part number 1713272SM, I called their customer service number at 800-366-7278 and spoke to a person in their customer service. I wanted to be certain the part I was ordering was the part I needed and they sent me a picture of the part. It is a black metal die cast cone and I confirmed that the picture was the part I needed. I put it on order and paid $96.71 with a Visa credit card on September 20th. Expected delivery was stated as September 28th. When I didn't receive the shipment I called customer service again was told the part had been shipped to an address in Orlando, FL. I live in Michigan and they confirmed to me that they did have my actual home address on file. They credited my card and I reordered the same part on September 28th with an expected delivery of October 8th. I have made over a dozen calls and they kept extending the delivery date. On October 26th I received a package from an address in Royersford, PA. It had the correct order number but the part was a Briggs&Stratton part # 1709729SM and was a hard foam gasket of some sort. I called again on October 27th and explained the problem. I was transferred to their returns/refund department and was told they would email me a return label and once the part was received they would credit me card for the $96.71. As I expected they never sent me an email for returning the incorrect part. I think their entire system is a scam and no one should ever use this company for anything. They are supposedly owned by Transform SR Brands, LLC in Illlinois and the Illlinois BBB has no record of any business concern at that address.
