Long ordeal, maybe will work out in end
2 stars vs 0 or 1 because I think in the end I will have what I need. I ordered a sump for my leaking dishwasher which was shipped and received. Needed sump because the failing seal in the sump was not sold separately. Ended up needing another part (seal was not only thing causing the leak, needed a leaking diverter motor). I paid extra for faster shipping of the motor but it arrived 4 days late (maybe not their fault). Unfortunately the received motor was obviously damaged and no install was even attempted. Damage was not from the shipping, clearly damaged prior to shipment including a bent shaft and mounting tab broken and other broken off plastic pieces. Broken pieces were not in the shipping box so clearly broken prior to shipment. Looked as if someone had tried to disassemble it and broke some pieces. Suspect it was a customer return that was put back on the shelf and re-shipped to me without a proper inspection. Called customer service but only got automated system so tried again and elected "Sales" and got a person. They agreed to send a replacement motor with expedited 2 day shipping. I provided pictures/description of the damaged part as required. Next day I received notice of replacement shipment but determined that the tracking number was not working. Called back and they confirmed the tracking number was bad and they said to fix the issue they would refund (have not yet received the refund) instead of replace and then place a new order for the same part. Same day I noticed the new order for the part was entered standard shipping (to save them money) and I was overcharged for the part (because they claimed it was no longer an online order (no online discount since it was ordered over the phone), plus they didn't honor the original discount code given). Called back less than an hour later to complain of the overcharges, got their explanations, and was able to convince them the overcharges were wrong and so they immediately issued a credit for the over-charges (best part of the whole experience). Eventually the new part arrived, was in good shape and there was even a bonus small tub of silicone lubricant included with the part. Happy to see the lubricant needed for the install as added to the shipment but I had already bought some lubricant from Lowes after the first part arrived without any. Saga continued when I noticed a few days later that the refund for the original damaged part still hadn't been processed. Called and customer service person (figured out how to get around automated system to a live person) and they processed the refund while I was on the phone and gave me a reference number for the transaction and was told it would 1-3 days to show up on my cc. A week later the refund is still not received. Called today and customer service said they would process refund again and gave me a new reference number but this time I was told it would now be 3-5 days before it would show up in my account vs the 1-3 days for the first attempt. Said it was system upgrade problems that prevented 1st refund from going through. I suspect the longer time was given to possibly delay my next call back to inquire again about the refund. We shall see. This refund waiting period is likely their choice as they were able to credit the above mentioned overcharges for the motor to my cc same day. To be fair, the overcharge credit happened the same day as the charges for the new motor replacement order so the quick credit for the overcharges likely was because they were able to make it part of the new order so the credit became part of the order vs being processed as a refund, that is, the charges on my cc for the replacement order and the credits all showed up on my cc same day. Also of interest, and as shown in previous reviews on trustpilot, a "computer system upgrade" excuse was consistently used as the reason for the problems I experienced with the tracking number and refund issues. I tend to believe they did do system upgrades during my ordeal because I started receiving old and inaccurate shipping notifications via text for previously ordered and received parts that their system was auto generating the day after they said the upgrades went online. If (big if) I eventually get my refund then the end results will be that I have my parts in working order (dishwasher is working now) and price will be in line with what I expected. If refund comes then my only losses will be: 1) My dishwasher was out of service an extra two weeks and 2) I had to make half a dozen calls to hold them accountable for damaged parts, bad tracking numbers, overcharges, and lack of refund. Hopefully this delay and my time end up being the only drawbacks to dealing with this company. The effort required to make it work out in the end...definitely not worth it. Will buy elsewhere next time if possible.
