I used SDC for a move from Hollywood, CA to West Sussex, UK. I did a self-pack. It was a bit more expensive than the initial quote because the original quote was based on my guesstimate of cubic footage, but it was still cheaper than the other estimates I got. They gave clear instructions on what they needed to get through customs at the destination, and showed up promptly for loading. End-to-end delivery took about 3.5 months, so make sure you have a plan to get through that stretch without all your clothes/furniture. The team in the UK (Eurogroup) also showed up promptly and carried stuff up two flights of stairs. I'm still unpacking, but so far the only thing that didn't survive the trip was a computer monitor. I blame that on my awkward packing of a curved monitor. A few boxes got dinged up, but the contents survived (use plenty of padding/packing material). I was worried about stuff getting damp because of months in warehouses, containers, ships, docks, etc., but everything is dry. Overall, I'm really happy with how smoothly the move went. protip: tell everyone (origin and destination delivery people) about any stairs ahead of time, because there is a fee for moving stuff up/down stairs.

You have to understand more about the customers needs!

The moving guys in Los Angeles were nice, helpful and professional. The move was organized within a couple of days. It was a shared container move and the only negative point was that my belongings arrived in Europe (from L.A) after almost 6 months.

We haven’t shipped yet, but are doing all the prep and paperwork. We chose them (even though their price was a bit higher) because they seemed to be the most straightforward with details and costs. Now we’re having some issues sorting through the multiple forms coming from various people in 2 countries. Fingers crossed it all gets sorted and goes smoothly.

My experience was good my shipment arrived very promptly. I have two small niggles/comments: The video estimate of the volume of items that I wished to ship was right on the boundary of a 20ft container. The estimator thought I would probably get everything in. I was advised to prioritise what I wanted to take in case my all my items did not fit. When the packing crew arrived they assured me that everything would fit but whoever called to check that the crew had arrived and that everything was going well still insisted on telling me to prioritise, even after she had spoken to the packers - every contact that I had with her prior to removal day, and on the day itself left me concerned that I would not be able to bring back what I wanted. This unnerved me a bit. In fact I could have taken more with me. My things were packed very well. My only slight niggle here was that the corrugated cardboard that was used to wrap my leather chairs and settee has left some ridges. I am hoping that they will ease.
