I had to wait an hour in pain for a pre booked appointment, to be given antibiotics that didn’t work on my infection, which resulted in an overnight stay at New Cross hospital due to infection spreading to my eye, for the hospital to give me stronger antibiotics.

Appointment felt pressured, didn’t get all options until the end of the procedure Addition after reply: I’m not sure why you are telling me times I arrived when I’m not happy with how things were communicated during my appointment. I asked before the procedure started if I had other options and he said no. It wasn’t until he finished he then said I might need to get the filling replaced with another option. If it started with, this is an emergency appointment and a filling is all we can do but if you can wait you could also do this other option would have been more transparent and helpful. I also felt pressured because the shape wasn’t right for a few attempts and it felt like I was an inconvenience trying to get it right. I went there to resolve a toothache, a broken tooth and another loose from the orthodontic containment, the toothache is worse, the broken tooth is apparently closed, but it looks like street work, and the toothache was simply said that either extract the tooth or there is no solution, I think I'll have to go to Brazil, there I can solve all this.

Receptionist was rude and argumentive. I have been coming for over 20 years and this is the first time I was spoken to rudely. Dentist was really good.

Any negative comments here do not apply to the skill of the dentists, no problems with the ones I have seen (other than some try to push cosmetic treatments, Denplan schemes, etc), the problem lies with poor administration. I have a considerable distance to travel to get here, on one occasion I received a phone call whilst on route to cancel my appointment as the Dentist was off sick (surely they must have known earlier?) on another, I turned up on time for my appointment, only to be left waiting for ages, only when I queried was I told there had been a mix up and I couldn't be seen. Another time I received a phone call to say due to a cancellation could I come in an hour earlier, only to be seen much later than my original appointment with no apology or explanation. Furthermore, some of the girls behind the desk can be downright rude. Finally, always ensure you are supplied with clear and concise written costs of your treatment, as mine were unclear and ambiguous, leading to a misunderstanding on my part when the final part of my bill was due.
