Scispace is a scam
Scispace's pricing page is titled, "Simple and transparent pricing." This is false advertisement and a complete lie. You pay for a certain number of credits per month, but there's no description anywhere of how many credits different tasks will cost. I reached out, because that page has vague estimates, but it says, "Costs shown are illustrative, extrapolated from current credit packages. Actual credit consumption may change based on your query." I emailed them for clarity, and they sent me the same page and they said, "I understand how not having a clear estimate can make it feel unpredictable." It doesn't FEEL unpredictable. It IS unpredictable. I'm really sick of this wording that more and more AI companies are using to gaslight users. It's unbelievable for a company to expect you to use their product, but they can't tell you how much it will cost you, so you have no idea how to plan your usage.

Thank you for the detailed feedback. Credit usage varies because every query is different: the number of papers, the year range, the report type, and the approach the agent takes all affect the cost. Our pricing guide gives estimates for common tasks (scispace.com/guides/credits-pricing-guide), but we know an exact figure upfront is what makes planning easier. That’s why our Advanced and Max plans now include unlimited agent usage: one fixed monthly price, with no credits to estimate or track. Details are at scispace.com/pricing.
