My PCP of 10+ years is dropping Sana due to difficulty reaching and working with customer service and the lengthy payment process (stated up to 4 months). Sent to Sana and ask for assistance and 24 hours later have not heard from anyone.

issue not resolved
issue not resolved
I tried to use my benefits before they expired as I did not realize they expire on 11/30/23. I tried to make an eye exam appointment. When I called, they couldn't find me in the system. I called Sana to get it straight as we've been paying on the insurance all year but evidently, we didn't have benefits. Sana put a rush on it and it was supposed to be resolved prior to my appointment on 11/24/23. The appt was made for 11/24/23. The office is at least 45 minutes away from my home. When I arrived, they stated that they couldn't find me in the system, and I did not get to get my eyes checked. Paid all year for nothing. We should get our money back as it was never put in the system that we had active vision insurance. I'm very disappointed. Worst insurance experience ever!!!!!

Do not follow the law
Charge $300+ for annual physical lab exam, which is preventative care and is required by federal law to be covered. Fight tooth and nail to not pay out the fees and betting on us not having the resources to sue them. Poor PPO network as well.
I know people don't really get to influence their health network choice but if you have any say, ask your company to get coverage from a conventional provider.

Business Owners Beware - Sana is a scam
Buyer beware...they say they will support your small business....and you'll pay the premiums....and meet your deductibles...and then you'll receive a tough diagnosis from your doctor followed by a cancellation notice from Sana saying you are too expensive. And they won't just drop you....they will drop every one of your employees. Chris Poelma will sell you on the idea that his company is better than the big guys...but that's only if you pay the fees without ever needing to use the coverage. We've been a Sana client for years, never needed to use the coverage until this year...I was diagnosed with a heart issue... and now every one of my hardworking employees is losing their coverage. Interestingly, our "we are dropping you" notice came in after our family paid the $10,000 deductible (as in days after...). As a small business owner, I would caution you about trusting this company. They make it sound like they are the answer for small businesses, but based on results, they are selling a lie. Run, don't walk, away from this brand. #sanainsurancescam

Horrible Service. Most Providers won't take them.
I seldom write reviews, and it takes a lot to ruffle my feathers to the point of engaging with customer service. However, this company has managed to reach a new low. They inexplicably charged an extra $125 to my card for their defunct Sana Pay service. While I understand that mistakes can happen, what truly irks me is their insistence that I was 60 days late in submitting my claim - a first in my two years of using their service. I repeatedly informed them that I never received their email, but they remained unmoved. How audacious of them to compound their error!
This is the caliber of company you're dealing with. Providers are reluctant to accept their insurance, and Sana attempts every conceivable tactic to evade covering expenses. Their customer service is abysmal in terms of both efficiency and quality. They exhibit an unwillingness to accommodate customers, yet display disorganization and carelessness in even the simplest of tasks. I implore you to steer clear of this company. I value my job, but I'm genuinely contemplating a departure solely to secure superior health insurance. It's genuinely astounding how unprofessional and ineffective this company is - an experience you'll only truly grasp once you're in the midst of it. Consider yourselves forewarned.
Update (10/23/2023)
On Friday, I was assured that someone would reach out to me regarding this issue by the end of the day. Unfortunately, this didn't happen, prompting me to spend yet another hour on the phone with customer service in an attempt to understand the delay. The customer service representative took nearly an hour to locate a departmental contact. He then informed me that the Sana Pay representative (the same person who had initially overlooked the error in the receipts) was working on the issue with their supervisor, and I should expect a follow-up later in the day.
I emphasized that this should be a given, considering the representative's evident difficulty in fulfilling their job responsibilities effectively. However, I had been requesting to speak with their supervisor since Friday morning. This conversation took place on a Monday morning just after 9 a.m. Why was it so challenging to speak with a manager at that time?
By 10 a.m., the refund was processed, and I finally had the chance to speak with a manager from Sana Benefits. I explained that my concern wasn't solely about the refund, but about the entirety of my experience. Despite their claims of prioritizing their members, I had never felt so disregarded as a customer. They had numerous opportunities to enhance my experience, yet consistently chose otherwise. A simple apology for the oversight and an assurance of prompt resolution would have made this entire process much more bearable.
A company that fails to grasp the importance of this basic step, which speaks to its humility, should reconsider its place in the business world. My sympathies lie with their frontline employees, who genuinely aimed to assist me but struggled to connect with those who could provide actual help. Having worked in customer service, I understand that the quality of service you can deliver is heavily contingent on the company's commitment to honoring its promises.
If you're seeking a reason to doubt the severity of my experience, you may find one. However, Sana Benefits' claims of "superior customer support" and a "better member experience" are, in my experience, misleading. I seldom take time out of my schedule to write reviews or engage with customer support unless I'm profoundly dissatisfied. I implore both small and large businesses to weigh the impact of choosing Sana Benefits for their valued employees. Don't let this subpar company compromise your valuable workforce.

Horrible customer Service poor benefits
Horrible company. Have 30 employees under insurance and they will not respond when needing help. Horrible customer service. Owner ignores calls and emails. It sounds too good to be true because it is. No place to post reviews because they hide them very well.
