This is at the Safeway store in Danville/ blackhawk. Lousy customer service. Was made to wait 20 minutes at the wine section for assistance. Had to make two requests. This is to buy two very expensive bottles of champagne. That glass enclosure sure keeps customers from spending their money!! There should be a customer button to buzz for help. Not for the customer to wander all over the store and an unmanned customer service desk. I would like to point out that Sarah, the wine service employee, was away at lunch. This would not have happened if she had been there.

I shop alternately at any of three Safeways in the Arlington/Falls Church, VA, area. Routinely, about every other time, the register/software does not reflect a digital coupon that I have "clicked and saved." Is this really so hard to fix ? "Safeway Software Sucks !!"

We live with 3 Safeways stores within 40 miles of us. The closest 1 caters mainly to Latinos so we don't go there. The other 2 are within miles of each other. Today we used Pickup Service & took the Time to Leave Instructions for items on our list. We chose Substitutions & Added Comments to get precisely what we needed. We even checked back again about 2 1/2 hrs before we were to pick up our order. When my husband arrived at the store he found that At Least 10 items were listed as Not Available or were substituted with unacceptable alternatives. This Despite all our checking confirmation notes etc! Now the 3rd store- 5 miles away from this 1 Might have had those items but that was not an alternative. Consequently we went home- 40 miles away- Without key items we needed. Extremely poor service with employees not even Reading our Requests & No Useful Updates in time to do Anything About it!

I think it is deceiving to put things on sale and then never have the products, however, as soon as they are off sale, bingo, they have them readily! Example - counter chicken breasts. Stopped in 3x - nope. Off sale, right back in. There are a lot of examples lately. Even the employees have mentioned how "strange" it is. Another ding is I wanted to contact Safeway via email and all you can do is call or mail! Really! So, if it continues, I plan on contacting whatever regulatory agency I need to and the BBB. These sales are being used to get you in the store and all they are doing is being very, very irritating! If they don't want to sell things at a certain price, don't put them in the damn ad! Other than that, we like Safeway but are starting to feel they are manipulative. Edit - this is Safeway in the Mesa AZ area at Alma School/Guadalupe. However, it happens at all Safeway's in our area. Does Albertsons get first dibs on product and Safeway gets the leftovers? That I have not checked as there isn't an Albertsons in close enough proximity to us.

Stood in line at food counter with young lady standing there watching, they were busy, After 3 min. of standing there waiting and making eye contact several times, she finally asks if I've been helped. After getting my order, with over a dozen employees working in the deli, she tells me no one can ring me out and I'll need to go through the regular check out line. The sweet older lady working the ONE open check out counter then charges me for the ranch which they have always given me in the past with chicken. Next the register freezes up and I have to stand there and wait until a manager comes over to figure out how to unlock it. So much for over half of my lunch hour. The general atmosphere was like everyone was stressed or cranky. I guess in retrospect I could have provided MY labor for FREE and checked myself out. How long would my customers stay my customers if I expected them to come to my shop, fix their own vehicle and then pay FULL price for the privilege to do so ???

They should have senior day later than the first Wednesday. Don't get paid until the second Wednesday of each month. Some where in the middle would make it easier for seniors. Also when you ask a cashier only to take a specific amount on a card, they need to LISTEN! Had one yesterday drain my card to a zero balance after I asked for only a specific amount to come out! Thanks to Safeway I will now have a late bill.

I order online and have a friend pickup my groceries. I stopped the delivery because the third party vendor DoorDash that Safeway used was not reliable. Too often items I need are out of stock. They need to update their system to identify items that are not in stock. I don't have too many options due to my disability. I am pissed to put it mildly.

I did a big shop in Safeway recently. I then put in the exact same order online with Walmart and it was $150 cheaper. Safeway was $550 before a member discount down to $500, the same shop at Walmart was $350.
