We chose this jetted tub/shower combo for fall prevention, increased needs as we age and the many listed health benefits. Our experience has been mixed. All of our concerns have bern dealt with very quickly, its more the fact that we have had issues at all. We have been surprised and disappointed especially for the standard of quality in materials and manufacturing described during the high pressure sales process and the high cost of this item, we should not have had these issues after 3mo of ownership and very minimal use. At the time of installation our original tub was replaced due to issues with the computer causing the tub to drain when jets were selected, after multiple tests requiring a filling of the tub to test the tubs functions, this decision was made by the installer and we agreed, a brand new tub shouldn’t require likely complex repairs before its first use. Upon returning to replace the tub the original installer had a new assistant with them and for some reason they gad now decided to do more tests rather than replace the tub, I protested this as the previous days multiple and unsuccessful tests had exhausted our water well pump which took hours to clarify. I insisted the tub be replaced or fully removed. I watched the tubs be swapped out then left the installers to complete the installation. Since installation of the second tub, it has been mostly used for showers and 6 baths over a 3 mo period. Initially we noticed the drain didn’t close completely but I thought I may have been doing something incorrectly because after opening and closing it a couple of times seemed to slow the water escaping and would essentially hold the tub full for bathing. The next issue was again with the computer function randomly it would come on with the welcome intro then quickly turn back off without contact with the key pad, this happened twice while I was in the tub and I thought I may have had some contact but when it happened the third time I was not in the tub at all, no possible contact. We also had a small leak in the drain connection between the tub and the pipes as well as water leaking from the connection of the rain shower head and its connection. When I called in to report the computer and drain leak I forgot to mention the drain malfunction, which until the installers were here, I wasn't sure was a malfunction, and the shower head, my partner and I figured it would be easy to fix, but hadn’t gotten to addressing it and just didn’t use it, relying on the hand held at a high level. Other issues we have with this is the shower set up is just how messy it is, the spray had a great deal of back spray allowing water to spray outside the shower area & water pools up quickly on the shelf and follows the groves to puddle on the floor. There is a very pricy glass wall to help with the shower back spray, which we chose against selecting the shower curtain, but it just isn't made to protect where the shelf and spray are which actually helps more water to collect on it and down the side of the tub. The shelf has no angle or groves to divert water back into the tub rather than outside onto the floor. Regular tub diverters are to short and low to be effective also this needs to have a more affordable wall option to at least better manage the back spray. I will also say I am surprised at how low pressure the shower head and hand held are, we had great pressure with our waterpik show head from our old shower. The pressure of the jets is also quite disappointing, the water jets could definitely be more powerful. We were very excited for this tub, but after our experience I would not make this purchase again, its been frustrating and disappointing, a very expensive lesson, but was bought with solid intentions.

I do not like the way to get inside the plastic door to reset the switch. It is way too hard to open and would expect to have something to open it without messing things up.

The tub is fine. My wife loves soaking in it. Beware of the Free Gift comfort height toilet. Comfort height toilets are supposed to be 17" - 19" floor to rim; my free toilet is 21" floor to rim; it is typically listed as an extra tall or bar height toilet. I am 5' 6" and my wife is 5' 2"; her feet don't even touch the floor. The toilet is useless to us. It took three calls just to get return call from Safestep and i was told that iwould have to pay for installation of the replacement toilet. I think that $26,000 is enough. I will just do it myself.

The sales team came out the same day that my husband called! My husband was adamant about purchasing a SafeStep; I could’ve by passed due to the price! The process went smooth. The first tub was too small as he tested it in the driveway! Mt husband requested a larger one and sent it back! We experienced no problems! It has been installed since March 2026! The installers were also top tier! The only problems that I have is: 1. We did not receive a remote and we got the MicroSoothe(top of the line)2. They tell you that they give you a discount to replace the hot water tank if needed! It’s needed! We have a 50 gallon and it’s not enough hot water when there is a family living in the house! We were told that a 75 gal wouldn’t fit in the opening to the attic to get a larger tank. So now we’re looking at a $5000 tankless water heater! We need the hot water to use the tub🥺🙄🤦🏾‍♀️ I think I’m more upset that I didn’t get a $119 remote free!

The install was ok, nothing exceptional. The tub is bigger and takes more room then they told me at bidding time. No one called to see how satisfied I was after the install. Filling the tub takes over 15 minutes but does drain fast. Way more expensive then what you get for the $$$.

This is an updated review. First I want to say my first review reflects my feelings about the product and my interactions with the sales consultant and the contractor. Having said that. $14k to upgrade the water heating system to run this tub.What the sales consultant DIDN'T say was that my hot water supply was woefully inadequate. And from what I am finding out that is pretty common. Now in my case it is something I would have done before the tub was installed had he looked at me and said this will not work with your current supply. He did say it was old.that is not the same thing at all! I had 5 weeks I could have had this work done and a better first interaction with the tub. That is Not what happened. The hot water ran out a little past half way full. My mother was shivering. I got her out called the company and they said "oh, ya that is not a large enough hot water supply. " Here's where everything gets more complicated and expensive. Because of the fast fill system. The plumbing companies told me I needed a double tankless system now this is to ensure not only to easily fill the tub but so I can not have to wait for recovery time. I will be able after she filled the tub to do laundry or use the other shower immediately. But this is expensive and the tub was expensive! Would I have not bought the tub if I had known that upgrading the plumbing would be half the cost of the tub? Honestly, I don't know. What is clear is I wasn't given enough information to make that choice. So here's the reality. I am spending 14 thousands dollars to upgrade the water heating system because I spent 26 thousand dollars to put in an amazing safe walkin tub. That is the reality. And it's not just safe step. But that's my experience. Do better! SafeStep, from the man who came to talk to us about the walkin tubs to the guys who installed the walkin tub. Each was very kind. Very good at their jobs. It was just 2 days.and they hauled the old stuff away. I received a lot of information on how the tub works. I am looking forward to having this available to my mom.

Shower installation did not match what I ordered. No communication was given as to why until job was completed. I have no complaints about the quality of the materials, but I am disappointed. I am currently waiting for parts ordered to correct issue, but I am not hopeful that I will get what ordered.

We purchased a safe step tub in June 2025. Unfortunately, we had one issue after another with customer service after the sales consult. We have prepared a letter detailing the problems we faced that will be sent to the president of the company. We like our tub but should love it. This is an expensive unit. Would we buy another one? Not based on our current experience. I am giving the overall experience 3 stars and can only advise others to: 1-Research options, 2-make sure to learn about the codes in your individual cities i.e. Power/Water etc. especially if you are in a condo. Be aware there are some design things that might make the tub a little odd to use. 1-the handle to close the door is stiff and hard to close if you have shoulder problems. 2-the selector for shower/tub does not have a true middle stop/select position so it is easy to leave it in an open position where water can drip. 3-while it is a tub if you use it to shower even when sitting down it is easy to step on the drain stopper and start filling the tub.
