If I could give this company less than a star I would. Empire moving used/recommended them for a move from FL to CA. On arrival movers refused to wear masks, required $1300 more for services rendered then delivered after 9 (nine) days past the deadline promised requiring $650 more. They’re shakedown artists. Do NOT use this company. Forgot to mention that goods arrived damaged.

Excellent
The crew drove from West Palm Beach to Winterhaven and were on time. The crew was excellent, polite, professional and the truck was extremely clean. Very pleased with the pick up of our belongings. Definitely would use them again.

TERRIBLE MOVING SKILLS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE
RUN AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS YOU CAN. Their recording is a lie - no safety precautions taken. NONE of them WORE MASKS during moving.
They lure you in with a cheap price and great sales pitch. The bad reviews are TRUE!
I told the sales guy that I had my condo of stuff and we had two storage lockers. I did a video tour of the condo & went through the items in the storage lockers & sent pictures to confirm that the amount of items for his quote. He said it wasn't a problem, we've covered most of that in our quote.
They didn't call me until 8:30 PM THE NIGHT BEFORE to schedule the move. I missed the call.. I was packing. So a confirmed move date on 11/21, and they didn't schedule a truck. I had contacted my sales rep at 1:20 pm on 11/20 asking about the time they were coming to pick up my stuff. He emailed support dept. & cc'd me at 1:50 pm 11/20. NO ONE RESPONDED. I called and left messages, emailed countless times and when they opened in the morning, called them right away. The owner found out and did make them send a crew.
My binding estimate was $2600. Crew arrives without calling around 11 am. The foreman says it's going to be more money & I have more stuff than the quote. I ask him about the storage lockers. He was shocked. He said he didn't know there were storage lockers though it was in my quote. He told me we would need TWO trucks'!! Then he tried to charge me $4700. Told him I wasn't paying that much and dealth with someone at corporate. Had to agree to a flat $4000 or couldn't move.
FYI - I'm still waiting for the the owner to apparently call me to discuss this and remedy it. STILL WAITING FOR THE CALL.
WORST PART - They don't know how to pack, don't know how to load a truck, nor how to unload or pack a storage locker. No pics from pickup but the foreman stepped all over my shelf just laying on the ground where they dropped it, while he was chit chatting with another guy. He didn't stop or pick it up until I said something.
Picks show my stuff in the truck, offloading, and in the storage locker at my final destination. The last picture for comparison is how I had my original storage locker packed.
Whey they pack they THROW multiple things in a big box. I found my lamp shoved in with a level, a heavy rolled carpet, kids toys, dirty broom. One of my floor lamps is broken.
- Unloading, both of my mattresses were left lying on the dirty ground outside.
- They balanced boxes stacked 4 high on top of my brown ottoman (which was sitting unwrapped on dirty ground). 2 minutes after the picture, the stack fell over and my pictures spilled on the ground. My mom put it all back in when she saw the guy shoving it haphazardly back in the tub. In a later picture you'll see the same ottoman, not wrapped on the ground again.
I had movers who had no experience:
- Boxes were upside down and sideways
- Fragile clearly labelled FRAGILE and light were on the bottom of book boxes
- Fragile picture boxes that show giant green arrows indicating which way should be up were upside down and sideways
- Stacked it all so high I couldn't get the door open
- Threw it in the truck and the storage lockers (pic with gray garbage is how they pack a storage locker. last pick is how I do it.)
- Left furniture just lying on the ground and stepped on it.
- Didn't wrap any shelving (which the salesman said they would).
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. CHECK Better Business Bureau complaints!

I booked a move with safe bound moving…
I booked a move with safe bound moving company after calling 5 different moving companies. Sales representative, Will, did the FaceTime and quoted 7713.43, which was 2500 more than other companies (they quoted me 4.65 cu ft vs 3.65 cu ft). He assured that their estimates are accurate ad that's why their rates are higher and that he quoted me more than I may need. I was also told that they will bring all the blankets and packing supplies. Pick up guy who came was very rude and any question I asked, he told me to not worry about and let him handle it. He had me sign all the forms before he loaded the stuff. Despite my asking
him several times about extra charges, he didn't say anything. He bullied me seeing that I had no one else there but me. After he loaded everything, he quoted me $11, 000. I called the customer service and asked to speak to the person who booked this, but he never came on the phone. I spoke to a girl name Kayle who basically justified all extra charges. She then called me next day and offered $150. I asked to speak with the supervisor and she said someone will call me, but no one did. I asked them to give me the
amount to pay off and release my stuff to have another company, but they said they can't do that. I filed a complaint with BBB and DOT and then supervisor
Matthew Polianites contacted me on 9/24/20. Although he made it sound like he is trying to resolve the situation, it took him one week to just gather the facts. He said that my belongings are not kept hostage, however, there has been no attempt to schedule the delivery and I am without my household goods until now. I am a single mother and have elderly parents I care for. My experience with this moving company has been beyond agonizing. I believe that this company has practices under false advertisement and deception and dealing with this company I have faced harassment and extortion, I am trying to resolve this situation with help of Florida Attorney's General's office. Please safe yourself from misery and do not fall for their scam of "accurate estimates" just because they facetime.

Excellent movers
Excellent movers! Safebound made a normally arduous and stressful process, swift and stress-free. Moving from West Palm to Boston, I was weighing a few different moving companies but fortunately I selected Safebound to assist me in making sure my belongings made it into my apartment safe and sound. Thanks to the crew - Gerson, Conor! Thanks to the sales rep, Luke!

Fraudulent Documents and Damaged Belongings
Edit: In February of 2021, Safebound reached out to me claiming that they have made changes to their business policies and personnel. They offered additional compensation to prove their sincerity and resolve my complaint. I accepted their offer.
Original post: Safebound prepared fraudulent documents and damaged our belongings during my family's move last July. In working through complaints with various consumer and government agencies, they have repeatedly accused me of lying (despite evidence to the contrary) and have offered only 8% of our moving costs in exchange for our silence. I believe the public deserves to hear about my experience and include it below.
Safebound Logistics sent only one person to load our belongings (Mike P.), and we saw him damage a Paloma II dining table and Andover floor mirror, both from Crate & Barrel. While loading, he pointed out to us a single shelf that was scratched, but because he did that, we assumed that he would bring to our attention any cosmetic issues he noticed. Instead, he fraudulently and incorrectly marked that literally every piece of furniture was in a damaged condition at origin. To do so, Mike used numeric codes that weren’t immediately clear and then pressured us to sign the paperwork quickly because he was desperate to get on the road. We didn’t notice or understand the damage codes when we signed the paperwork, and he certainly didn’t point them out.
After delivery, we figured out the meaning of the numeric codes and found that those codes don't even match the location of damages we claimed. For example, Mike marked all 8 dining chairs, an armchair, an end table, 2 beds, a 3rd dresser, and a 3rd nightstand as scratched and/or soiled, but all are still in perfect condition. This proves that his list of damages is fraudulent. Instead, many of our items were damaged during the move due to Safebound's negligence. They even lost an essential part of our sofa, rendering it unusable.
We chose Safebound because their sales team promised that our items would remain on a single truck for the entire move, but then they then unloaded and reloaded the entire shipment. This likely contributed to the damages we incurred.
While our items were in transit, I asked for a final cost so I could have a bank check ready at delivery. They emailed a final price, but then demanded another $228 in charges before they would unload our furniture. Given all of this, I believe that fraud and false claims are common practice for Safebound.
We have reached out to the company directly, filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and endured a nearly year-long settlement process with the industry-biased, third-party, CSI Pros platform. At the end of the day, Safebound offered to buy our silence for less than 8% of what we paid.
All the while, they have continued to defend their incompetent employees in spite of damaged goods and fraudulent documents. Worse yet, when they replied to the FDACS, they twisted my words and then accused me of lying despite clear evidence to the contrary.
In closing, here is what we learned about Safebound Logistics. Get every detail in writing, though in our case, they didn’t even honor what they put in writing. Furthermore, watch the loading crew (or individual) like a hawk. They will mark that everything you own is damaged. Read every line of every page and ask that they explain (in writing) every stray mark written on the page, because if you don’t, they will later claim it means you agreed that every piece of furniture you own was damaged before they loaded it.
Finally, if you choose to entrust your belongings to them, you should definitely take out insurance to protect from the mistakes they will certainly make. Apparently, protecting your items from damage is not included in the price they will quote—it’s like a car company charging an extra fee to make sure the new car you bought has no manufacturing defects. If a moving company is unable to move furniture without damaging it and/or unable to execute documents without committing fraud, they should not offer insurance; they should stop moving furniture and find another industry.
Just stay away.
