This could not have been a worse experience. The company is so responsive until you pay them a deposit. Thereafter they go dark. At the time of the move, when you have no other choice to shop around, the drivers show up and increase the price as well as state that even tho the customer service representative on the phone said your belongings will be moved interstate within 14 days, the contract and reality is that it is at least 30 BUSINESS days. At this point , you are stuck because you need to move so you go ahead with it. At the time of delivery; I lost thousands of dollars of furniture and items. Desk and furniture were broken. Glass was broken. Rugs were mold filled as they left my things in their storage facility in Cleveland Ohio and water go into things. Exercise equipment broke. 7 boxes of personal memories I cannot get back, were never delivered and lost! I made a claim months ago and to date, they have ignored every attempt to make things right. There are much better ones out there.

If I could give less than one star I…
If I could give less than one star I would. Unfortunately, my experience with this moving company added significantly more stress to the already stressful act of moving.
Within 15 minutes of arriving at my home to begin packing, I was being asked for additional money. I was also promised a Saturday delivery and planned accordingly, only to have the delivery changed to Tuesday with seemingly little concern for the commitment that had been made. I was told it was the beginning of a delivery window which was NEVER discussed with me or I would have planned accordingly.
The quality of the packing was the most disappointing. Many of my belongings arrived broken, shattered, torn, crushed, or otherwise damaged. The boxes were packed far too heavily and without adequate protection. One box was so overloaded that a metal bread pan near the bottom was actually crushed. The boxes had a layer of dirt on them so I have no idea where they actually stored my items but I'm sure it wasn't the warehouse they showed my on the video call. Every item that was wrapped in a blanket had a layer of dirt and had to be cleaned thoroughly and a 6ft ladder never made it to my new home. Very few boxes were even labeled so we had to open every one to figure out which room they belonged in.
I have filed a claim, but unfortunately, money cannot replace several of the damaged items as they were antiques and sentimental pieces passed down from my grandmothers. And the claim came in for $26.40. What a joke.
I expected a professional moving company to take reasonable care when packing and handling my belongings, particularly items that were clearly fragile. They packed a basket with hand weights on top of an antique glass globe lamp shade.
The only time my call has been answered is after I blocked my phone number.
The overall experience—from the unexpected request for additional money, to the change in the promised delivery date, to the extent of the damage—was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend using this company they are terrible.

HORRIBLE
HORRIBLE. They are broker just like everyone else was told they weren't was told they would be the one picking up our stuff and dropping it off. I have photos to show that it's a company out of California not out of Florida and they treated our stuff like crap and I've never been so disappointed. Do not use this company.

Safebound is NOT SAFE
Initial contact with sales rep seemed fine, and 3 packers showed up on day 2 of 2 day window. They had my 91 year old cousin's belongings packed up and out of the apartment in San Antonio, Texas, in about 4 hours. Then the trouble began. A different sales rep said to expect delivery within 7-10 business days of the first available day for delivery. Pick up day was June 25, and the first available day for delivery to her chosen assisted living facility in Auburn, Alabama, was June 30th. It is now July 21 and they cannot even provide a promised date of delivery. I was told via text message on July 17 that the items would be loaded onto a semi on July 18. I am told today (July 21) over the phone after calling them twice (2.5 hours apart, because there was no response from the first call) for an update that the loading did not happen, and they will let me know when they have an update. THIS IS VERY POOR SERVICE in my view. They have seemed like a disorganized group since the pick up date as they have repeatedly asked me what the first available date for delivery was, usually via text messages sent with no name for the sender. How is it they cannot check a computer screen and know where her stuff is and when it will arrive??

Bait and switch pricing
Bait amd switch pricing. My quote doubled at pick-up basically forcing me into accepting their pricing because I had to move. They bring extra large 18-wheeler trucks unable to park anywhere in any community to charge you for every step, like it is your fault. Avoid.

I hired this company to move my items
I hired this company to move my items. They lost 3 of my cartons. One of them were all my pictures of family from infancy to parenthood. They lost my college diploma. The lost a personal signed celebrity autograph picture. They lost all my important electronics. When we text each other they said look at the bill of lading it says you only had 12 cartons. However they only counted the cartons that were in order not the ones at the bottom. When you add these 2 plus the 1 they put in the trash can there are my missing 3 cartons. Since I demonstrated this to them the emails have gone quite When the movers dropped off my items they were very polite and courteous. However it was late and they were obviously tired. They brought no tool so when they were putting my wrought iron bed together they did not know how to assemble it They left a piece off it and did not either put on all the bolts or tighten them . The bed slipped in the middle of the night.I used Safebound for their reputation and reviews. They were one of the highest bids but this was my first out of state move ever.I hesitate and don’t think this is a bad company because almost all their reviews are good. But in my case it ended up going badly( never put expensive and fragile on your box with electronics that is a lesson I learned)They told me to just file a claim, that will never replace the value or memories As an old man I have lost. Great companies try to fix their mistakes not cover them up or blow off the customers I quess this is what differinciates great from good.

If there was a MINUS 10 star
If there was a MINUS 10 star, this company would get it. We are victims of deceitful ad unethical business practices and malicious behavior from this company. They outright lied and didn't disclose essential information.
They gave us a binding quote, after doing a thorough video walkthrough, then the night before the move, did a second walkthrough and informed us it was an additional $7,000. They put our belongings in storage without our authorization or approval and are now holding our belongings hostage somewhere ... No one responds, no one communicates and we have paid this company over $20,000! We have no ETA on when or if our items will arrive. The movers left a huge hole in the wall of our house that is for sale, and still no one has bothered to reply or respond.
I have contacted the AG's office, the BBB, the FMSCA, and every media site possible to complain about these people. I've also tried to track down contact info for the owners, but it's not listed anywhere. We've moved a lot across the country and never have experienced anything like this. RUN!!! RUN!!!! RUN!!!! as far away from this company. You will not be safe with Safebound.

Lost and damaged items; up-charged me; no communication
I would 100% NOT recommend this moving company. Tl;dr they lost two (2) of my expensive framed art pieces; damaged multiple pieces of furniture; delivered someone's else's table top to me (and have not made any effort to retrieve it); charged me for a shuttle to deliver my items to NYC without ever using one; and have since GHOSTED me since bringing these issues to their attention.
I used Safebound for my move from Florida to New York in April 2026. The pre-booking process was easy, the prices seemed competitive, and the sales team was communicative (albeit very pushy to get me to sign a contract, which in hindsight should've been a red flag).
Problems arose day of my move when the movers told me I had more stuff than estimated (even though I did a complete walk through with Safebound on Facetime) and that I would likely need to pay $500-1K more. Of course, I could have said no but it was the day of my move, what am I left to do??? Thankfully, after a lot of haggling and back and forth, I did not end up paying more.
The biggest issues arose, however, when they delivered my items to me. I was missing TWO framed art pieces, worth over $600, and my large wall mirror and another furniture item was damaged and/or completely destroyed. They also delivered me someone else's glass table top. Lastly, I noticed that they the movers did not use a shuttle, despite Safebound charging me $400 (!!) for one because they claimed their normal trucks cannot fit in the NYC streets.
While I understand mistakes can happen in a move, it's how Safebound handled my issues (or, better yet, how they failed to address my issues) after the move. I brought the missing items, incorrect item, damaged/destroyed items, and the shuttle charge issues to their attention. I called them over 10 times to figure something out -- where is my stuff? who's stuff do I have and what do I do with it?? why was I charged for a shuttle?? They kept saying they would get back to me, that they would look into this for me, but then would never follow up. I had to re-explain my situation to a new person almost each time I called. At the time of writing this review, their customer service team has completely stopped answering my emails.
I rarely go out of my way to right reviews, let alone negative ones, but Safebound's complete lack of communication and unwillingness to assist me has left me no other option. I've also used movers for other long-distance moves in the past so I know this is not normal or acceptable behavior for a moving company.
Do not be fooled and please use one of the many other moving companies out there. While their rates may seem competitive, you will end up spending more, either because they lose or destroy your items, upcharge you the day of the move (leaving you with no other option), or even charge you for add-on services that they do not provide.
