70th birthday party celebration
I celebrated my 70th birthday at Ruth’s Chris Steak House and ordered their 4-course meal, which included a salad, filet & lobster, garlic mashed potatoes, and dessert. The food itself was excellent and cooked well, and the overall dining experience during the meal was enjoyable. However, I was disappointed at the end of the evening. After completing the full 4-course dinner, I was told there would be a $5 upcharge for creme brûlée because cheesecake was the only dessert option available. Given that this was a special birthday celebration and the total bill for two people exceeded $250, I was surprised that a small accommodation like a complimentary dessert was not offered or included in the experience. It wasn’t about the $5—it was about the feeling of hospitality on a milestone birthday. At a restaurant of this caliber, I expected a little more attention to guest experience on a special occasion. Overall, the meal was very good, but the final impression was unfortunately less memorable than it could have been.
