Issue Resolved
Update: Royal Medical has contacted me to explain that this was the result of misunderstanding and this not how they do business. To make things right they have refunded the $195 fee as well as contacted the lab and taken care of paying the lab bill. Additionally they offered me 2 months of free service and a permanently reduced rate if I were to reconsider returning to them as my HRT source. I have already signed up with another service and declined the offer to return, however they say the reduced rate offer stands if I change my mind later on and decide to give them a try again. I have to admit I am impressed with their resolution of this issue and would like to believe that the professionalism shown by the senior manager that contacted me to resolve this issue is also representative of the rest of the team and I just happened to have a one off experience. End of Update. --------------------------------------------------- While searching for a new HRT option I decided to look into Royal Medical Center. They will charge you $195 up front before you get a consult. My consult was a horrible experience very much like you feel going to a shady used car salesman. I explained I was currently on treatment from another clinic and asked how to go about changing, I was given advice not to worry about my current prescription "When you get our stuff just throw away the old stuff and your good" was the exact words. When I asked if they offered Peptides I was told not currently, but given advice how to source them without a prescription. When I tried to tell them I wasn't interested in what they had to offer he told me I already spent the $195 so I should at least go with the month I already paid for. After that consult they tried to fill a new prescription for me before my current prescription expired despite me being clear during the consult I was currently on a program. That got flagged and the prescription was not filled and they asked me to call them. When I called they proceeded to accuse me of "doctor shopping". When I explained I was told by their consultant not to worry about it they said it is on me to know better. At that point I was not comfortable with the service at all and just wanted out and they could keep the $195 I already spent. I told them I was not interested in their business and to cancel any memberships and don't fill any prescriptions, I will go with someone else. They then informed me that I had committed to 6 months of service with them and that I would not be refunded the $195 and additionally I would have to pay the lab fee. That bill arrived at the amount of $390. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Royal Medical Center there are better options out there with great customer service that will charge you much less for a consult, some will even give you a free consult.
