I booked a dog sitter for $300. At 1am the dog sitter cancelled the booking. Rover says it will take 5-10 business days to get the refund back to my account and refused to budge. I need the dog sitter in 4 days. I absolutely DO NOT recommend Rover for dog sitter bookings. UPDATE: I reached out to customer service again. They were able to apply what I had paid as a credit until whatever refund is posted. This helped a lot. I'm updating from 2 to 4 stars only because of the refund turnaround time. If a sitter cancels last minute, that could pose serious issues for the person who already paid the fees, since they have to be paid at time of booking.

Caregiver and their environment was clean and oder free. Very dog 🐕 friendly people and home. Peanut received a lot of love, which could be noticed when we picked him up. He was not 0verly excited to go home. Very content! That is a good sign for him and us! Great serve!

The sitter that came to my house wasn’t the registered and vetted sitter but it was her daughter. So lack of honesty for a start. Even the photo on the profile is the daughter so there is no checking ID. I only found out because I went to drop off the key and the mum arrived home and introduced herself then when I said you are both called “X” the both said no the daughter is “Y”. That annoyed me for a start. Then on day day 5of 7 she asked if she need not do a small task of putting a little water in the fishpond that she had agreed. Reason it was her mother’s birthday and she was busy! She was already over 2 hours later than normal. And for my money she only ever stayed 7 minutes because my cat was always out and putting his food out takes all of 30 seconds. However each day I got an email from Rover she had claimed to be there over an hour ! Every day this happened. So I don’t rate Rover highly. Maybe if Rover actually insisted that the profile photo matched the official ID it might be a start in the right direction but until they actually check they’ve got the right person it’s all a bit of a fraud and a sham. Zero stars.

My sitter was called at the last minute. She came asap. She was attentive, polite, sweet and excellent at cleaning 2 litter boxes, better than me! I will definitely be hiring her again when needed. Dee Sweeney

3rd time using Rover for my dog boarding. Each time was easy to use and each sitter was great with my pup. Would not hesitate to use again!
