My dog loved the sitter and I felt comfortable

Pariss was a great choice for me. She was very engaged with my kitten. I had full confidence in her abilities, flexibility, and I could tell immediately that she loved her job and animals. I also like how the app works. I was able to see all the available sitters in my area. I especially liked the upfront price for each sitter. I will definitely book Pariss in the near future.

Scheduling boarding for my puppy was smooth and easy using the Rover app. I found the information available about the pet sitters very helpful and appreciate that they are background checked and vetted. Overall, booking and boarding with Rover was a positive experience for a first time nervous puppy and dog mom. Jessie B was great!! I appreciated receiving photos and updates and felt that my pup was safe well cared for while I was away. I will definitely be going back to Rover and Jessie B in the future!

I wanted to share a cautionary experience we recently had with a pet sitter we found through Rover. We needed care for our two dogs in Santa Fe while attending an important family event in Southern California, June 26–29, 2026. After interviewing Marissa from Santa Fe, NM, whose profile we found on Rover, we felt comfortable hiring her. During the process, she suggested that we book directly with her rather than through Rover to avoid platform fees. We agreed and paid her a $230 deposit. We arranged to meet the day before our departure to finalize everything. She did not show up, did not notify us beforehand, and initially did not respond to our messages. We immediately made other arrangements and asked for our deposit and keys back. She later told us she had slept through her alarm after spending the night in the emergency room with a broken rib. After returning home, we again requested our $230 deposit since she had not provided any services. She refused to refund it. The lesson: If you find a sitter through Rover, keep the booking and payment on Rover. We made the mistake of agreeing to go off-platform at the sitter’s suggestion, and when things went wrong, we did not have Rover’s protections.

Great app that makes it easy to find local sitters. I've booked two so far, and both have been kind and reliable companions for our border collie.

First time I’ve ever used a dog sitting service. I was pleasantly surprised how professional and efficient the service was. I highly recommend them to everyone. Aja was so wonderful to my poodle, Archie.
