Roost & RootReviews of roostandroot.com

Exceptional coop born from very clearly written instructions with supporting pictures, diagrams, video and tips. Everything included in the kit except the power drill and a mallet. We are getting our brood of chicks next week and I think they’re going to be perfectly safe and happy once they’re old enough to move into this walk-in coop. The only tough, but not insurmountable, parts about the install were keeping the roost and egg box roof panels in perfect place while we set in the screws and we had to use a mallet over our hands to set in the center roof beam because the cutout was a bit too narrow on one end. We are sure to be the envy of or inspiration for many other aspiring backyard chicken keepers!

All in one store!! This is great because they have everything I need for my mini farm, including tools, insecticide, and seeds and all. Thank you so much for this clinic; it is very affordable. All of my orders are completely and securely delivered.

We have round top coop #16!! They are beyond helpful. We just ordered the new square feeding tubes & love them!

My daughter and I purchased and built an amazing coop for our lovely Birchwood Babes which we raised from 2 days old .. following all the great instructions I feel they are very safe and all 6 are laying daily, we had a little more snow in Indy this year so I ordered the winterizing panels and quickly installed them for protection. Quality easy to follow instructions!!

Very happy with the structure & quality.

Our chicken coop is great. It was easy to rig so we could move around to fresh ground. Chickens are happy grazing and we are delighted eating eggs.

My greenhouse is wonderful! Excellent communication with the timeline of when my greenhouse was being built and shipped. I had an issue with my final delivery company being able to deliver to my home. When I talked with Roost & Root about the problem the took care of it immediately by arranging for another company to collect my greenhouse and make the final delivery. The quality and craftsmanship of the greenhouse is excellent. I’m so happy I decided to purchase from Roost & Root.

So I have purchased 2 coops from Roost & Root. Started with the smaller “Round-top coop” which was very well made, but a huge pain to clean out. I also didn’t love the chickens having to hop down from the roost bars directly onto hardware cloth as everything I read/heard said that was a sure fire way for them to get bumble foot. So we lined the roost area with linoleum… made it easier to clean out, (the poop will NEVER fall through hardware cloth btw…) and solved the potential foot injury problem. After I got tired of having to get on my knees to clean the run area out, and sticking my head inside a poopy roost to clean out every day, I decided it was time to upgrade to the smallest walk-in coop. Again, the new coop was really well made. Easy to assemble. Easy to clean, and access water, food, eggs, etc.. There is/was just one failry major issue… There is no ramp up to the roost bars. The chickens are supposed to “hop” up which seems a little odd when you have 4 chickens trying to get to the roost bars at the same time. One of my girls is “portly” and she ended up sleeping on the floor of the run by herself getting pooped on from above. I messaged R&R and didn’t hear back for over a week. They said it would resolve itself. But it didn’t… so I had to build a ramp for her and redesign the lower part of the coop. Not what I would expect for the money. They really should just put a damn ramp in… Anyway, I love the quality, but think the design should be a little more conventional. Most chicken coops have a ramp for a reason…
