Product Failure

I built 2 outdoor chairs. Some call them Viking chairs and some refer to them as two board chairs. The other piece involved was a bench style planter which consists of two boxes, which hold potted plants with the two boxes connected by a slatted bench. I coated both the chairs and the planter with your oil product. Three coats on the chairs, and two coats on the planter. The results have been disastrous, to say the least. Both are covered in black streaks, which is a fungus of some sort. I think had I used plain Linseed oil, the results would have been the same. For what you charge for your product, I assumed the results would have been so much better than they are. I sincerely believe your product is a total waste of money. I would be happy to provide photos if you would like to see what I am describing. And fyi, I live in north Georgia. I shudder to imagine what the outcome would have been were I living somewhere with high humidity.

Hi Jewell, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. We're sorry to hear about your project but confident we can find a solution! We have seen this happen sparingly before, especially in areas with high concentrations of pine trees. Essentially, a specific pollen or dust settles onto the surface and causes the black coloring. What we recommend is cleaning with the following solution. This solution will help lift the color and kill any potential mold/mildew growth. We recommending mixing 1/2 cup of TSP (Tri-Sodium Phosphate) and 1/2 cup of Borax to 1 gallon of hot water. Stir the mixture until fully dissolved. Scrub affected surfaces and then rinse thoroughly with clean water. For preventive protection, this same mixture can be sprayed onto the surface and let dry.
