Very disappointing experience with…
Very disappointing experience with Copart and Ride Safely I purchased a motorcycle through a Copart broker and was extremely disappointed with the condition of the bike compared with what was visible and reasonably expected from the listing. There were several visible issues that were not properly described, including a loose exhaust that was held by only one bolt, missing hardware/O2 sensor connections, loose fairing components, loose passenger foot pegs, and clear signs that parts had been removed, replaced, or swapped. These are not minor cosmetic issues—they are important condition details that should have been disclosed in the auction description. (e.g.,infotainment system downgraded) I contacted Copart to report the issues and request a resolution. Unfortunately, Copart considered the matter closed because the purchase was made through a broker. I then contacted the broker, and they told me they do not manage or inspect the lot and therefore could not do anything about the condition of the motorcycle. So, in the end, the customer is left with the loss. My frustration is not only with the motorcycle itself, but with the lack of accountability. If obvious visible issues and missing/swapped parts are not going to be disclosed, buyers need to be aware that they may have very little recourse afterward. I expected better transparency and customer support from Copart. Unfortunately, this experience has seriously affected my confidence in buying from Copart or Ride Safely again.

Dear Santos, Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re sorry to hear about the frustration you experienced with the condition of the motorcycle and the difficulties you encountered when trying to address your concerns after the purchase. We understand why missing, loose, replaced, or altered components would be especially concerning when those details were not apparent from the auction listing. RideSafely operates as an intermediary platform and does not physically inspect or control auction inventory. However, we recognize how important clear vehicle information and responsive support are throughout the buying process. For anyone using an online vehicle auction, we strongly encourage reviewing all available photos, condition information, auction disclosures, and terms before placing a bid, particularly because auction vehicles are sold under the conditions and policies established by the auction provider. We appreciate you bringing your experience to our attention. Your feedback is important to us, and we will continue working to make our role in the process, as well as the information available to buyers, as clear as possible. Warm regards, The RideSafely Team [email protected]
