Very long arrival without updates on the delayed unless I contacted the company. Waited over 6 week on an item I could have bought from another site and had it in a week.

Hi Amy, thanks so much for your your feedback. You ordered a product where we explicitly outline on the website that it is made to order for us by the manufacturer in Europe and will take lead time to ship. When you inquired about status, we promptly replied, reminding you of the fact that the item in the configuration you requested is made to order. The item you selected is a fabulous one, and I'm sure you'll find was worth the wait. :)

disappointed…
I have to admit that I’m disappointed in the week-long delivery time. I have signed up for a Hunter Clinic which requires a protective vest and the one I’ve ordered will now arrive too late for my use.

Hi Shannon, I believe that the greater disappointment is ours that you chose to shift the blame for your planning to us. You ordered your vest on Saturday, May 10. We packaged the vest and printed a lanel on Sunday May 11 and it was picked up by UPS on Monday the 12th (UPS doesn't pick up on the weekends).
We are based in North Carolina. You live in Canada. Short of a personal delivery service, we're unsure what your expectation was for delivery timeline. You certainly did not reach out at any point to inquire about when to expect delivery, although when we printed a label you would have received an email notification giving you an estimate, along with multiple subsequent emails about the shipment's progress.
You may have also noticed that we are in the midst of a trade war, and given that you made an international purchase, perhaps should have planned for a potential delay in a shipment clearing customs as a result - none of which we control.
We're not really sure how a package that shipped within 24 hours of you ordering it has resulted in your "disappointment." However, we are grateful to have met and even exceeded the expectations of our thousands of customers that have reasonable expectations and plan ahead appropriately.

They sent the incorrect shirt
They sent the incorrect shirt, thus I had to make an extremely inconvenient trip to the post office during the height of the holiday rush. The correct shirt wasn’t expressed mailed, so it arrived right before Christmas, leaving little time to wrap it.
I live on a busy road where items in my mailbox have been stolen, so I am unable to just pop a return item in it
Response from Ride EquiSafeDec 29, 2023
Hi Sally, we did indeed make an error in sending out the wrong shirt and we're so sorry that occurred. Thankfully we were able to get the correct shirt out quickly as well as a USPS shipping label so that the incorrect shirt could be dropped in any USPS blue box for pickup to avoid those holiday lines at the post office. While not ideal, I'm glad that despite our error, we were able to get the correct shirt delivered three days before Christmas, giving you time to wrap that one small package to make it under the tree.
Not our finest moment, but I'm grateful we were given the opportunity to correct it and hope that you'll give us another try to experience what is normally exceptional customer service and quick shipping.
Warmly,
Catherine

Good and not so good experience
First off I love my air vest and Catherine was wonderful and knowledgeable to deal with which made my personal experience pretty good. The only bummer was the fact that the air vest myself and a client ordered strictly due to having a pocket the maker decided to not make anymore. No one told us that or Catherine from my understanding which was annoying but I still like the vest so kept it. However it’s alittle tricky getting off my horse without digging the canister into my saddle.
However the biggest disappointment was that when the rep showed up there were no sizes available for most of my clients to try on in the body protector. There were lots of air vest options but a lot of my clients weren’t interested in those initially. I have one client that have now had to send her body protector back going on the second time due to the “sizing chart” still not being accurate. A problem that could have been solved had we just had vest to try on. Plus the cost on shipping my client has had to pay as well is making just trying to get a vest much more expensive. We were also told there would be cheaper options in the $400 range and the rep showed up with only the most expensive options which my clients weren’t prepared for either and immediately upset a few ppl who were planning on only spending the $400. Yes of course they could have tried to order something off the website but as you can see the sizing can be tricky which is why we were all hoping to take advantage of trying stuff on. Overall I think if our rep and some more training on fitting and would have brought more stuff for my clients to try on we likely wouldn’t have had many issues.

I have to say that I was quite disappointed to receive this review and feel the need to outline all of the facts.
We started working with you in early June to schedule a group appointment and after significant coordination, were finally able to nail down a date to have a rep travel to you in Michigan in August. We also scheduled a group educational session that was delivered in the interim to provide an overview on safety equipment. The rep traveled several hours with an SUV full of products and we also shipped boxes of additional products from our base in North Carolina.
Based on our understanding of the clientele, we had people interested in air vests and we thought that the clients looking for body protectors were primarily children. Thus, the sub $400 prices that were quoted were for children’s body protectors and the products that were brought for the appointment were based on that. Bringing full size runs of every single product we carry is physically not possible given the volume, so we do our best to bring representative samples based on what’s in stock, knowing that we can measure and order as necessary. It’s simply not possible to bring every single size of air vest and body protector to a fitting that’s many hours away. I will also mention that all prices of every product we carry are clearly outlined on our website.
The rep that was sent is one of most experienced fitters and has been with the company nearly since its inception. There was one body protector out of the entire group that was a tricky fit and a protector was sent per the measurements taken by the rep. Upon receiving the protector, the client felt that it was too snug, so we redid the measurements and sent the next size protector, which the client also felt uncomfortable with. We reconfirmed the measurements and rather than a body protector, the client has now decided to switch to an air vest, which by its nature feels less constricting than a body protector.
Last, it is true that the air vest manufacturers are no longer making vests that have pockets, as riders were putting things in the pockets while riding (go figure!) and the items were creating risk of damage to the air chambers. While pockets are certainly convenient, what is being purchased is a safety product and we make our recommendations to clients based on fit and effectiveness of the product, not pockets.
We are grateful to have helped so many people in your program get into the appropriate safety equipment and will continue to provide the ongoing support whenever it’s needed. :)

I called to consult on sizing
I called to consult on sizing. I was advised to order an XL. WAY too big and too long.
I need to return. I’d like a label since this was not my fault.
Response from Ride EquiSafeOct 24, 2023
Hi Cheryl, thank you so much for the multiple orders. You reached out via our online chat after placing an order online, letting us know that the size L that you ordered was too snug and asking if the XL would work, providing your height and weight. We requested specific measurements in order to make a sizing recommendation and didn't receive those. Therefore, we were unable to make an actual sizing recommendation.
Of course you're welcome to return the item and we'd be happy to make a specific recommendation with your measurements. :)

Would not recommend purchasing without trying helmet locally due to no return policy
Although I was able to purchase the helmet at a good price point, I am frustrated with this no return policy as I ordered the identical size in the 1K defender helmet that I had previously ordered with the only difference being the new helmet includes the MIPS technology. I was disappointed to learn that despite the inclusion of the MIPS technology, one Kay has chosen to downgrade the quality of the materials for the helmet lining. The new materials for the helmet lining are thinner so my same sized helmet does not fit like my current 1K helmet. Extremely frustrated because there's no way I could know that the new helmets would not fit the same way as the identical sizing in previous years.
Response from Ride EquiSafeJun 21, 2023
Hi Kathleen, thank you so much for your purchase. You purchased your helmet deeply on sale and we very clearly outline that our helmet sales are final. Upon following up with us about sizing after delivery of your helmet, we shared that sizing can be very easily adjusted in the One K by changing out the liner. As we are not the actual helmet manufacturer and don't carry any of the non-MIPS One K models, we are unable to compare differences in sizing. We continue to be at your service to help you swap out the liner in hopes of helping you achieve the perfect fit. Please don't hesitate to reach out.

The vest is amazing
The vest is amazing, absolutely zero complaints about that. My complaint is once your cartridge activates and you need to reset your trigger, the information is extremely lacking. No where in the instructions booklet or on the vest hanger, does it tell or illustrate the way you reset the capsule that the ball goes in to for the clip. Your YouTube video is extremely helpful, but it would have been very nice to have seen that illustration on something it reset it at the barn. I had to reach out to my representative to find out that there was a video that shows how to do it.

Hi Dianne, thanks so much for ordering your vest through us! In your emailed order confirmation, there is a section that guides you to the user guide for your vest that includes the video for how to reset your trigger and encourages that you bookmark that page. That page also includes the link to register for the warranty for the vest. In that same email is a link to our YouTube channel with additional helpful information. We hope that the vest keeps you safe for a long time to come, and we're always here to answer questions!
