Surly
I had my water softener replaced. I looked up on the website to see if they take water softeners. According to their website, they do take them but only under 100lbs. After dragging it to the curb (we are senior citizens mind you), they opted NOT take it. I notified them that they missed it, so they sent some clown out who told me they wouldn't take it because it was over 50lbs (50 lbs less than the 100lbs their site claims). They also said it needed to be emptied (there is nothing about that when you punch in "water heater" on their site). I have a screenshot from the site, but am unable to upload on this forum...So, despite doing what I was supposed to do, they again chose not to take it. When I reached out to customer service, I ended up chatting with someone who absolutely could care less. Said they would try again in two weeks! I told him (Luis A) we were seniors, and that didn't matter to him. So now, I have to drag this thing back from the curb (again, we are senior citizens). If I get hurt doing it, I will sue them to the stone age! The people who work at Republic Services are obviously clueless as to the actual policies on the website. Even with a picture of what their website says, I was unable to get satisfaction. In my honest opinion, the person who came out to the house should really be fired for blatantly lying (or being completely wrong). Either way, this "supervisor" should know his job! Since I'm going down that road, the customer service jerk who had no empathy for our plight and just repeated the incorrect information that the other person told them should also be canned! The fact that I have the proof, but have to deal with these fools anyway is beyond frustrating. They are a public utility, and should be accountable to us, but they are accountable to nobody and don't really care. Someone needs to do something about these people. They have way too much power over our lives. Despite doing everything I was supposed to do, I still can't get rid of this water softener and they have every intention of making it as difficult as possible. If this was the first time I had an issue with them, I wouldn't be so annoyed...this is chronic!
