I really like the company! My only concern is that often investments aren't as quick to confirm as I expect, and then I am uncertain about their completion.

The ease of investing in various opportunities and the variety of offerings is attractive to me. The due diligence the company does prior to listing a startup is critical to an investor's success. Republic seems to do that well. I can invest with confidence.

On the whole Republic is easy to use, looks nice, and does what it says it will do - definitely recommend! Have invested numerous times across a variety of industries and offerings. The one downside I’ve experienced is that the site runs slowly when there’s a popular investment (usually right after a newsletter recommends an offering), which often requires multiple refreshes at the various stages of completing the investment before it’s final. Not a huge deal, but can be annoying - plus, in theory, the issue could prevent interested investors from getting a placement if the offering filled while they were waiting (or if they walk away to try again later).

I often log in to participate in an offering recommended by Jeff Brown. Usually right after I receive Jeff´s notice the web site appears overwhelmed. It may take several attempts to log in and then response time is sluggish and as often as not an error message displays. That said if I stick with it for an hour or two I am able to record my choices.

Republic does an outstanding job of identifying and attracting promising start-ups in a broad range of sectors. The online system for selecting investments and, later, for converting shares, is also very efficient and easy-to-navigate. Over the past few years I have invested in over 40 companies on the Republic site.
